We had a self-contained cottage in a garden setting with a patio containing a table for two. We ate all our meals there. This YHA was exceedingly clean, quiet, and well organized and managed. The staff was especially helpful. My wife and I both liked this hostel very much.

The best hostel I have stayed in so far. A massive kitchen, and the first one I've been to that's fully equipped, spotlessly clean, as is the whole site and the rooms. Free wifi, no more $4 per hour etc... You can bring your own booze, although it's a one beer kind of place, ie you would really want to... More

Only stayed one night in a double en suite room - originally it was part of the 2000 Sydney Olympics' village. Good room, quiet hostel, well equipped kitchen, friendly staff. The WiFi was good and free.

Stayed here for two night on our way down to Rainbow Beach. Arrived at Greyhound stop and minibus was there waiting to take us to hostel. Check in was quick and easy no messing around and Ozzy on reception was fantastic with local knowledge and suggestions. We stayed in a cabin with ensuite, it was very clean and beds were... More

The rooms were small but clean and with nice air conditioning. It's a small place with many people staying who are working. The kitchen and pool are both fine. There really isn't much to do in Rockhampton and we won't remember much of it, as it's not an exciting place. One thing we will remember, though, was the service we... More

Rooms are a little small but are very clean and beds are good. Kitchen facilities are brilliant and are also kept clean same with the toilet and shower facilities. TV room is very spacious and comfy. The hostel manger is works from 6am through to 10pm constantly making sure everyone is ok and cleaning up. The hostel is about 10... More

I stayed at this hostel for three nights. My first impressions weren't that great because the place is a bit run-down, but the people staying there were lovely, and the staff were helpful too. The kitchen is recently redone and well-equipped. The bedrooms weren't so nice because the lockers were broken, and there was no soap in the bathroom. Rocky... More

Stayed here for two nights as a solo female traveller. I found that the location was a little far out; walkable to the centre, but a bit too far to walk to on a really hot day! Room was really nice inside and staff were really helpful and friendly. Would recommend as a stop over for a night or two.

Foul odour from broken toilet- tried to air it out but still wasn't pleasant. Other facilities average. Staff were friendly and helpful. Even though we booked online and got a good deal, the room was still overpriced. Traffic noise but good location.

I stayed in the Rockhampton YHA for only 2 nights with a small group of friends back in July. We arrived on the night greyhound bus and had a taxi ride to get to the hostel as its not close to the town center. When we arrived, we stuggled to find the reception desk as they had a key in... More
