Accomodation had previously always been difficult in Rockhampton. It was invariably bland, uncomfortable, noisy and excessively priced. The discovery of the Denison on my most recent trip was an unexpected pleasure. It was very well priced for the comfort and amenities offered. There was an uncharacteristic generousity of free parking, free wifi and breakfast included. This might put the other... More

This is the best hotel we have stayed at in Australia. The bed was so comfortable and the 4 poster was a nice touch. The bath was appreciated and so was the aircon which worked well. Breakfast was simple but well cooked and the staff were more that happy to make fresh coffee for us every morning. We will be... More

We were booked in late one night and could not believe our luck. It was cheaper than the average motels in Rocky, and included full breakfast for two people. The room was elegant and true to form, very comfortable and romantic for us a couple. There was good off street parking and no problems with noise (we had a back... More

Class and style personified. Step back in time with huge ceilings, amazing furniture and a mix of old and new. 2 person spa bath and huge 4 poster bed mix with period furniture. Nothing is too much trouble for staff. An ideal place to stay if you are just passing through or if you want a romantic getaway.

I absolutely loved staying at this beautifully restored railroad hotel for 2 nights. I was so looking forward to it as the website pictures looked stunning. The hotel room lived up to my expectations: 14-20' ceilings, huge canopy, comfy 4 poster king bed and a claw-footed spa tub all furnished in late 19th century style period. I didn't inspect the... Just out of town, but walking distance. Large rooms that take you back in time. Large four poster bed and spa bath in the room. Old pub across the road is convenient for a beer and a steak. Free buffet breakfast is good. On the negative - no internal stairs or lift to access rooms on top floor, rooms are... More

I've travelled all over the world & stayed in plenty of 5-star hotels, but this is absolutely the most beautiful hotel room I've ever seen! The ceilings are 14 feet high, the bed has a huge canopy that stands about 7 feet tall, the furnishings are gorgeous late 19th century style pieces, and even the en suite bathroom has lovely... Based upon TripAdvisor reviews I booked us in the Denison after 3 nights on Heron Island. The room was spectacular, huge with canopied 4 poster, high ceilings, Spa bath/ shower, love seat and chair with ottoman. We were situated on the garden/ car park side so were not bothered by the train noise. The next best part was walking across... More

We have stayed at Denison Boutique Hotel 3 times now. The charming rooms and huge four poster beds are inviting and comfortable, and free breakfast in the dining room down stairs is most enjoyable. We also enjoy heading to the pub across the road for a great steak. It's quite a few blocks from the city heart but flat going... More

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary. Had seen pics online and fell in love with the 4 poster beds. Arrived and were greeted by lovely receptionist, room was pre-cooled with the aircon on (it was a 30 degree day, so this was appreciated). The room, while not overly large, did not feel crowded even with the beautiful armoire and... More
