We were only staying in Rockhampton for one night on this occasion and decided to try this property. The room was beautiful. Very carefully furnished to match the history of the building. We loved our four poster bed and in -room spa. Everything felt very old world but clean and fresh. The included breakfast was a bonus and very tasty..... More

Fantastic rooms, good size, 4 poster beds, high ceilings, fab furnishings and old style furniture in hardwood, spa bath and big flat screen telly- all sorted for a romantic stay, but no bath foam, hot chocolate and an early kick out time, not to mention the unguarded freight train line running aside the hotel every half hour ( not beetween... The hotel is set in the 1885 railways administration building and rooms are furnished in period decor. Opening the door provided a WOW factor, there has been a lot of attention to detail in the furnishings. We stayed two night, the second was booked with the romantic indulgence package, on our return from our travels for the day the staff... More

The Denison Boutique Hotel is a classic old design and presents very well. The rooms are sympathetically decorated with reproduction furniture and paintwork, the ceilings are a massive 4.3m. We had the disabled room 8 at the front and one of you needs to be able bodied as the 4 poster bed is 1 foot from the wall and therefore... More

The height of the ceiling in our luxurious room had to be seen to be believed. Then we discovered that the building used to be the railway offices. Our room was well furnished with matching carved items; the comfortable four poster was a romantic touch. The buffet breakfast was fine, and it was included in the price. (As we were... More

This was certainly a nice room in an out of the way location. However right beside the freight rail line and opposite the Great Western Hotel. While you do hear the trains these are slow and not as bad as some places I've experienced. There are no lifts so if you need a ground floor don't forget to request. Rooms... More

This is a fabulous place to stay in as the building is quite old and majestic, but it is in an industrial area and very close to the railway line. Pluses - beautiful rooms with very high ceilings, huge four-post bed, spa bath, lovely breakfast included in the price, great service, nice furniture in the rooms, air-con Minuses - no... More

So delighted to find this gorgeous hotel in Rockhampton. Yes the location isn't great and the railway lines are close but the quality you get for the price FAR outweighs these issues! The for poster bed is very comfortable, breakfast was great and my husband was very excited by the large TV which can be watched from the spa bath.... More

Only one night here but what a delightful find. We had a ground floor room and as we asked for a walk in shower rather than a spa, our bathroom was huge. The furniture was large and could easily have been antique. Our bed was a four poster and very comfortable. Huge curtains allowed us to screen out light and... More

What a surprise to open my room door to see a four poster bed! My first! Pity I was travelling alone. The Denison is a converted railway administration building, close to the centre of Rockhampton, with room on two levels. Mine was on the ground floor. The room was beautifully furnished in Victorian style furniture, but with a 2 person... More
