I stayed for nine nights recently and I was very happy with the experience. The location is great, easy walking distance from Macrossan Street, the Marina and Four Mile Beach. The room is a reasonable size, I was on my own but it wouldn't have been a problem for a couple. The bathroom is large and the shower is large... More

My partner and I had a four night stay at Port Douglas Retreat in July. The room had everything we needed and it was an easy stroll to the Marina, to town or to the beach. However our room at the front was very noisy and we were woken up at 6.30am on three of the four mornings by traffic... More

We have just returned to Sydney after a week's stay at the Port Douglas Retreat. We were delighted with this choice - lovely welcoming reception area, attractive tropical environment and the rooms were great. Comfortable bed, plenty of space, good bathroom, lovely balcony and perfectly adequate kitchinette. I can't understand people complaining about not having clean towels or room service... More

The location being close to Macrossan street is what made us pick this place. The room was clean and had a nice balcony. The kitchenette is well equipped and the washing machine room worked perfectly. The manager does give advice about the activities that are available in Port Douglas such as diving and snorkeling trips and the reception wall is... More

We had a very nice experience at Port Douglas Retreat! Traveling from the US, I was nervous about confirming accommodations and transportation and in my overzealousness sent not one, not two, but THREE emails to confirm. David, the manager, kindly responded each time to assure me and even joked about it when we checked in! The location was great, about... More

My daughter and I recently spent several nights at The Retreat. Designed for adults but minutes walk from 4-Mile Beach, the marina and the delightful Macrossan Street, the studio apartments are not large but clean and comfortable offering a seating area and a kitchenette, good sized shower-room (no bath), and a balcony with dining table and a good clothes airer... I booked direct due to reviews stating that this was mainly for adults as we didnt want young children running around due to school holidays. We got a quiet, reasonable priced and central accommodation, exactly what we were looking for. This venue is not the most dazzling of accommodations but it is clean and compact, with a very comfortable bed.... More

We stayed here in early July and were welcomed by David and Joyce the property managers. The studio apartment had all of the facilities that we needed four our 4 night stay. It is only about a five minute to Four Mile Beach and about the same to Macrossan Street. Would happily recommend this property to visitors to Port Douglas

We are just at the end of a 4 week stay . This complex is handy to everything and managers David and Joyce are welcoming and efficient. This complex has all necessary features for a most enjoyable Port Douglas stay and we still have all our arms and legs! Sue and Les.
