Andre and Anthony were fantastic hosts - helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. Their extensive past experience working in tourism was evident - they host with flair! We were more than happy to be within reach of Port Douglas but enjoy the seclusion of this luxury boutique resort. The 'breakfast with a view' was a great start to each... More

Anthony and Andre were very welcoming and friendly as well as helpful with planning activities during our stay. The accommodation was boutique and unique in a quiet location that overlooked the Daintree rainforest. It was a short drive from port Douglas, about 10 km out so a car is essential. We knew this in advance so there were no problems.... More

My husband and I stayed at Mai Tai for our last trip away before our first child arrives. As you can imagine, we were looking for peace and quiet with views to die for. Mai Tai provided all that and more. The room was spotless, very comfortable and had everything you could need. The other guests were regulars (a good... More

After a long flight, a couple of hectic days in Sydney and a few days stay in a large hotel further down the coast my husband Barrie and I arrived at the Mai Tai and it was like stepping into another world. The entrance to the bedrooms gives the appearance of entering a temple. The Orchid room is delightful with... More

Well, what else is there to add? The house, location and view (see photo) are absolutely stunning. The deluxe suite and the outdoor shower are super. Showering was a great experience with the sounds of nature in the background! Andre and Anthony are perfect hosts and very interested. Nothing seems too much for them. We have really enjoyed our stay!... More

My wife and I stayed with Andre and Anthony for the Great Barrier Reef portion of our Australian honeymoon. I have been contemplating this review for awhile, because I am not sure I can do justice to how great our experience was. First off, the resort is AMAZING. The beauty of the surrounding area is incredible, but Anthony and Andre... More

My wife and I travel extensively, and the three reasons Mai Tai is an easy 5 star are: location, accommodations, and people. First, location is on mountainside in rainforest 15-20 min north of the city. So happy we elected not to stay in town - waking up early just to hear the daily rain forest chorus at sunrise, the amazing... More

My wife and I stayed for 3 days in Dec. our biggest regret was not staying here longer. This retreat is circa 10 minutes car drive from port Douglas towards Mossman, on Mt Molly rd. it sits on top of a hill overlooking the rainforest and sea. The view from the breakfast area is just perfect. There was three lovely... More

I liked Anthony. He (and his absent partner) have put together a stunning resort up in the hills above Mosman. It is beautifully styled and would have been blissfully peaceful if Anthony's mother hadn't been in residence for our first couple of nights - she kept her TV on all night at high volume. When we mentioned this the next... More

Hi Richard and many thanks for your review. As stated before to your wife I was really shocked at the response as I really wasn’t expecting this. We were always so chatty all the time and I just don’t understand why she couldn’t have discussed these issues at the time you were here, which would have then avoided going to... More

We just spent two nights at Mai Tai Resort but coming back to Melbourne it felt like we'd been there a week. Anthony and Andre are such beautful hosts and the breakfast, outlook and accommodation was stunning! Don't miss the chance to stay at this wonderful place.
