We recently returned from our third trip to Port and wanted to stay close to Macrossan Street and Rex Smeal Park. We were celebrating our anniversary and birthdays and were fortunate to get an amazing apartment overlooking the park with water views of Dickson inlet and we had a fantastic time and so relaxing. The Court House Hotel was right... More

Just come back from beautiful Port Douglas. We stayed at Club Tropical 10 years ago and went back for a bit of nostalgia. Nostalgia we got, because the rooms hadn't changed one bit in 10 years. This is in a fantastic location, walk to everything - it could be so much better. And the Sanctum spa, where we had the... More

My husband & I visited PD early November 2014, we stayed at Club Tropical Resort on the recommendation of friends who have previously frequented this establishment. Whilst we found it quite nice & very roomy, there were obvious areas that needed a bit of TLC! (All rooms are individually owned and not are all equal!) Staff very friendly & accommodating,... More

Our room had recently been updated and it was lovely and very clean, Middy who was at the front desk went totally out of her way for us as we were going on a fishing trip for four days she let us leave our car parked in the garage and booked us another room for when we returned from sea... More

the room was spacious, with all amenities. the front desk receptionist Middy was most helpful in all instances. she helped with a very stressful situation and got excellent results for us. our room was clean and quiet. right at the heart of the main street of Port Douglas, walking distance to Four Mile Beach. we would definitely recommend this location

I live just down the highway, but I live at my place of work. So for a weekend away, an extended weekend or a planned holiday to Port Douglas you definitely can not go pass Club Tropical Resort for some well deserved R&R. A very nice large pool, heated spa and a sauna. Some of the rooms do need up... More

After reading reviews I had specifically requested a renovated room however tis was not so. The room was tired and dark and dated with kitchen facilities poor (small fridge) and only 2 element cooktop. Positives were the location, bedding was clean and comfortable and nice pool however needs an upgrade. General grounds and gardens untidy and neglected for a so... More

I stayed in room 105 in March 2014. I was highly impressed with the room which had clearly just been renovated to an extremely high standard with quality fixtures and fittings. The bathroom was huge, clean and modern. The bedroom had the comfiest bed! The huge TV could be adjusted to face the lounge area or the bed. My favourite... More

Our room hadn't been recently renovated, though we had everything we needed and it was clean and comfortable. The location is perfect, especially of you have a wedding at the Sugar Wharf. It's near the Coles and the bulk of the pubs and restaurants. Our room looked out towards the park, which was a nice outlook. Certainly not flashy, though... More

The location to the shops and marina is very conevenient. However the accommodation itself could do with a makeover. There were many things in our unit that were either broken or rusting and the decor was very dated. The lounge was propped up by pavers as one leg was broken, a shutter to keep the sunshine out was of little... More
