Myself and 2 friends stayed at Parrotfish as it was the only hostel in Port Douglas with availabity for us all to stay in the same room. As soon as we arrived, we realised why this was the case. The place looks like it's falling apart. The walls are crumbling, there's rubbish everywhere, the so called TV room looks like... More

The only reason I didn't give this place one circle rating is because of how close it is to the marina and promenade. My friends and I stayed as a large group and the moment we stepped into the room we knew we weren't going to be pleased with the rest of our stay. The room was untidy because it... More

On check in the receptionist didn't charge one of our group members for the 1 night stay which is a simple mistake to make but we wasn't informed of this until 2 hours after check out. They also didn't know which group member they didn't charge, so they would have just charged anyones card if we hadn't have gone back... More

I've stayed here for 3 weeks last december and it was the perfect place to finish my 3 months travels round Australia. Parrotfish was just great to come down, relax and to enjoy the beautiful side of life. I loved the pool area and the rooms were big and clean compared to all the other hostels I stayed in before.... I worked in Port douglas for a couple days and stayed in Parrotfish. It is a very cool hostel with quiet athmosphere and polite personal. I liked it very much. Everytime when I had questions the people on the reception helped me quick. You have a good access to wifi and free computer available. Visit this place.

Great to head in for a drink depending on if your made welcome! Wouldn't recommend you booking in to stay. Very unclean rooms.. shower area and dirty kitchen. Very quiet this can be a good point for some people. But we later found out it was quiet as there were not a lot of people staying here. A few moved... More

I stayed in Parrotfish lodge a couple of days and it is very clean, good and free breaky. The staff is always friendly and funny. There is a nice bar in the Hostel where you can play pool and drink beer. A very good place to stay in Port Douglas

So it was a rainy day in Port Douglas, our van was next door being repaired, so we sought refuge at Parrotfish. The owner let us have breakfast, use the internet and have a shower, didn't charge us a thing! Can't recommend this place highly enough. A little kindness goes a long way! If you're a backpacker, choose this place... More

Stayed here for three nights in February. Loved it. The place is big, has a great pool, and the beds are comfortable. I found it very clean. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. Tod gave great advice on things to see and do, and efficiently booked all activities (diving, sailing, rainforest tour). Very strong focus on customer experience... More

I stayed for 5 nights/6 days and absolutely loved it! The hostel is a fantastic location, right amongst it, in town one street back from the main st, and close to the beach. Great value for money! The rooms were large, airy, and bright with comfy beds, and there is a lovely pool area, such a nice place to chill.... More
