We recently stayed at the Parrotfish with a large group, and the owner Mick was extremely friendly and accommodating. The rest of the staff were always very warm and welcoming, and overall the accommodation, services and facilities were great value.

Bed bug tuesdays? Floor cleaning Mondays... Both of which weren't noticeably valid... Location is good, but I'd point you elsewhere for a more comfortable nights sleep. Seems you can get cheaper accomodation on wotif.com these days? Better than a hostel and cheaper.

We spent 2 nights there on a rainy week-end... had a great time though, nice staff, local beers, table tennis and sofas to read various books left there by travellers. Really enjoyed it! Port Douglas being quite a posh little town, was nice to chill there.
