The Sheraton Mirage was a very nice getaway and had beautiful rooms. I stayed in a suite with my family and our balcony overlooked one of the pools. The pools were very relaxing and had nothing nasty in them so that was a plus. The milkshakes which were located near one of the pools were very yummy but unfortunately we... More

This hotel is a true reflection of the excesses of the Skase era. Everything is just big; the driveway, the entry, the foyer........the foyer is incredible.....you play a full game of football, the 9ha of pools, the grounds. Then onto the room....I had a twin share with a friend. Although a little dated, the are very, you guessed it, big,... More

This hotel had nice grounds and a shuttle to the city. Unfortunately this was severely over shadowed by the out dated interior of the guest rooms. The rooms seemed dingy due to the outdated interior. The restaurants were closed at different times through out our stay leaving very limited options for food since it is so far outside of the... More

Outside school holidays and just long enough after the cyclone season was a really great time to visit. We booked a package which included 4 nights at the Sheraton Mirage with full buffet breakfast each day. The rate on offer was true value for money - the resort was very sparsely populated so just hanging around the many large pools... More

Sheraton is still a beautiful resort, even though it's old. The only problem is it's not in walking distance to the town. If you want to go to the town for a dinner and drinks, you need to pay $9 return shutter bus fee. Probably better to stay in a service apartment in the town, so you can do some... More

The Sheraton Mirage used to be the place to stay in Port Douglas and was a glamorous 5 Star establishment but now is probably only a 3. I stayed quite a few times in its heyday. Now it is looking tired and dated. For a Saturday the place seemed to be very empty and the lobby area and shops deserted.... More

We were not expecting much of the Sheraton based on earlier reviews and a recent visit by a friend. However, we thoroughly enjoyed our 10 day stay. Sure, the place is in desperate need of an upgrade but once you look past this, the hotel is truly a magnificent property. Pros - Large lagoon-like pools with man made sandy beaches,... More
