We come to Port Douglas regularly and often have a drink at the Central. Last night at 7:15 p.m. I asked if she could go and ask five children who were running around and screaming to keep quiet. Her response was - this is a family restaurant and kids are welcome. While I think most parents these days prefer to... More

After 10 days of eating at various restaurants in Port Douglas, the central hotel would be the utter most terrible. Ordered the 55 dollar seafood platter. The half lobster looked already half eaten and suffering some disease. There was no sign of the marinated octupus. Didnt even receive proper utensils to eat the meal. Friends ordered a chicken snitzel and... More

Stumbled onto it by accident. On the main street with tables and seats outside; plenty of character in the bars; reasonably priced drinks and food and the latter was of good quality. The night we visited there was a live MUSO in the main bar, and he was good.!! ( sixties and seventies )

My partner and I decided to stay in Port Douglas after seeing how beautiful it was. We stayed at the centeral Hotel because of the location and the price. We enjoyed our one night here and found the staff very nice and helpful.

This is our favourite pub in Port Douglas. There is always an activity of some kind on including Trivia, meals are great and there is plenty of options to choose from. Staff make you feel welcome regardless of whether you want a meal or just a drink.

Could not get into the Mexican restaurant so decided to try a pub meal instead. The central hotel has a lovely breezy feel to it, unfortunately for us, that was were the pleasant experience ended. We ordered two meals, one fish and chips, the other a rare to medium steak - neither we thought were "slow food" meals but after... More

Called in here for a meal after a sunset cruise. The staff were rude when taking our order. Had a chicken parmy, was very overcooked and dry and hardly any existence of sauce. Chips were also overcooked, didn't even bother with trying the salad! My sister had a bolognaise fettuccine which had huge clumps of mince like meat balls. We... More

We had a light lunch and were pleased with the friendly prompt service. The bucket of fresh prawns was nicely served with lemon wedges on a bed of lettuce, seafood sauce along with a finger bowl and lots of serviettes. Delicious!

The central hotel in port Douglas looks great, excellent location and atmosphere. We ordered dinner and were warned it would be a 40 minute wait as they were busy, within 50 minutes the food Had come so my partner and I were both given free drinks of our choice. The food came about 5minutes later and was delicious. I have... More
