We stayed a few days just after Cyclone Ita. Graeme was really understanding regarding our flight delays. When we did eventually arrive, the cottage was prepared with fresh fruits and some wine in the fridge. The cottage is beautiful & really unique. It's got the small touches that make a big difference - plenty of books, well stocked pantry, towels,... More

Although the Lodge was not available this time, the Cottage was excellent; same high standard of accommodation. At first we thought Port Douglas too far for a long weekend (four days), but it was so easy with arranged transport to and from the airport; and within walking distance of everything we needed and or wanted. All of this with the... More

We recently spent a bit over a week in the cottage and with the benefit of near perfect weather had the most relaxing and enjoyable holiday we could have hoped for. The cottage is very well located in close proximity to 4 mile beach as well as the shops allowing for an easy walk to wherever we needed to go...... More

The Lodge was in immaculate condition, spacious and well equipped. The bowl of fruit a welcome treat. Location is perfect - just far enough away from the main street to be unaware of any noise but near enough to walk to the beautiful 4Mile beach and restaurants, parks etc. The owner, Graeme was very pleasant and helpful when we asked his... We went to Port Douglas with friends who have been many times before. We weren't keen on staying at a resort because they're all quite a way out of town and we wanted to be within walking distance to Four Mile Beach. We found The Lodge on Trip Advisor, read the reviews and booked it immediately! Graeme was brilliantly helpful... More

We stayed 3 nights in the cottage. The location is perfect, it's quiet because it's just off the main drag but it's also central - you don't need a car. We arrived to a big bowl of fruit, some champagne and Graeme welcoming us in his kind and understated way. The cottage is small but a fantastic use of space.... More

The 4 of us stayed during the school holidays at the Lodge and found it was everything we wanted, walk to shops, walk to beach, but felt away from the crowds. Our 2 children spent as much time in the pool as the beach and Gary the owner even lent them some Lego. He went out of his way to... More

My wife and I stayed at the Cottage over the new year period for 2012/2013. All in all, a pleasant stay and quite unassuming for its location given that it's right in the heart of Port Douglas itself. Tucked up a small driveway, half way up a hill lies the Cottage and Lodge premises. You'd miss it quite easily if... More

We stayed at the Lodge, and unlike many places it really did match the description on the website. Being in the centre of town and within walking distance of beach and other activites there was no need to hire a car. Also it was also a romantic, private retreat. It was great to stay in a place designed for the... More

We stayed at The Lodge which is the larger of the two dwellings and is at the rear of the block. The house has open cathedral ceilings, french doors opening on to the long veranda, slate floors, and a wonderfully thought of functional stainless steel kitchen. With a central lounge and two bedrooms either side with their own ensuite, it... More
