For $16 a night i guess its what you expect. It has everything you would need for a budget backpacker and seemed like an alright atmosphere. However, our particular stay meant that although we booked together we were in seperate rooms. Our stay was short so we sucked it up and thought it wouldnt be too bad. My room was... More

It's a really nice place to stay. Nice garden and pool area to relax. Free Breakfast from 7 to 11 is great! First hostel I actually ate the free breakfast, because its not to early haha + pancakes on Sundays are pretty cool. Also the free WiFi is really good! The people are all nice and everyone fits in straight... More

Very good hostel, enjoyed my time here immensely. The atmosphere and surroundings are great, very social environment. Free brekky is a massive bonus, dressing up as a woman on my first night was an experience.

Great place full of great people! Free wifi and breakfasts every morning is just an added bonus! Events on near enough every day of the week. Such a 'family' type atmosphere and everyone just fits in almost straight away! Good place to really feel comfortable. Highly recommend!

I've been staying at the Lazy Duck for a pretty long time and have not been dissapointed. It's one of the best value for money places you can stay at in Cairns. The main benefit is the free breakfast that you can enjoy every morning and it's the perfect spot to get to either the esplanade or Cairns central in... More
