I have stayed at the Hotel Cairns a number of times and have always found it to be a highlight of our stay in Cairns- it has that old colonial feel about it- bright white roomy open and green. The lipstick palms and greenery persist. It is only block back from the busy esplanade. The hotel is anticipating new owners... More

I booked this hotel for a great rate off hotels.com about CAD $94 a night for a city view with a king bed for 3 nights (Really just two singles pushed together but still comfy!). Warwick greeting me upon my late night arrival and he was helpful in every way and made my stay very pleasant. This hotel has a... More

Excellent location near the Esplanade where lots of restaurants and shops are located. Our room included the breakfast which was great. You could eat indoors or out on the patio near the pool. Our room was small and located along a outdoor walkway on the 2nd floor. Room was fine for 3 night stay, but bathroom--especially tub were a bit... More

Stayed one night here as our flight schedule was changed so we had to book a hotel quickly. We stayed in city view room which was good value for the money, hotel is close to the city center and esplanade, big king size bed, clean and tidy. Bathroom was average and we noticed that one of taps was broken which... More

Good pricing and close to a the esplanade. Spent 4 days there and I was really satisfied with mostly everything. Only "bad" thing is the windows. In my room, all the windows were placed out against the stairs and door walk witch gives it a bit of "motely feeling".I had to have the window blinds down 24/7. So check that... More

I stayed for one night. Nice rooms but bathrooms could use an upgrade. Good location: short walk to town or the esplanade. They have free breakfast but it ends at 9am and when your there to relax, waking up early was not on my agenda so I didn't get to try it . .would have been nice for them to... More

The hi-light of The Hotel Cairns is the very friendly and extremely helpful staff - nothing was too much trouble and we found they always had time for a chat. Our room was a good size and comfortable. We had a king size bed, 5 lovely pillows, and when we needed an extra blanket it was no trouble at all... More

It would be hard to find such a well located hotel with such reasonable prices. The plantation rooms are excellent, newly refurbished , very comfortable beds and we loved the tropical feel of the property. The White shutters and palms were pretty however all the ppl SMOKING outside the rooms made it unpleasant every time you walked along the balcony... More

I stayed at The Hotel Cairns (THC) at the start and end of the five day live aboard dive boat on the outer reef and it certainly met my needs. The room had echoes of the 1970s but had undergone some kind of revamp. Room lighting was rather dim but the internet was reasonable, the bed was comfy, the bathroom... More

Stayed here for 5 nts picked it for location and relaxability. Really the cleanliness and lack of a amenities let it down badly. The staff were the best thing - my request to have my room properly cleaned were met with good spirit, they were very friendly. It wasn't as relaxing as it could have been because the staff seemed...
