Arrived in Cairns quite late in the evening, not having booked ahead. This was their last room, but I spite of that, they said if we booked over the internet, we would save $20. A good and friendly start. The room was well used and worn, the marble tiles showing their age, but it was spotlessly clean. This hotel has... More

My Girlfriend and I stayed here for one night to catch a train down the coast the next day. This place was amazing, I loved the design. It felt like a tropical plantation with open balconies all the way around. the rooms had floor to ceiling california shutters! everything looked very up to date (except the taps on the sink/shower,... We arrived at The Hotel Cairns at 10.30am on the 19th November 2014. We were too early to check in to the Hotel so we chilled around the pool for 3 hours. It was a very hot day and we were tired. The receptionist allowed us to store our bags, he was very friendly and helpful. The Hotel was of... More

Stayed 4 nights. Ist night on first floor annex was a little noisy, so moved to 4th floor which was luxurious and quiet with large private balcony and huge room! It's getting a little dated and worn, but that 1980's Singaporian Raffles feel and great position makes it good value for money. Super helpful and friendly staff, nice pool and... More

I have stayed at the Hotel Cairns a number of times and have always found it to be a highlight of our stay in Cairns- it has that old colonial feel about it- bright white roomy open and green. The lipstick palms and greenery persist. It is only block back from the busy esplanade. The hotel is anticipating new owners... More

I booked this hotel for a great rate off hotels.com about CAD $94 a night for a city view with a king bed for 3 nights (Really just two singles pushed together but still comfy!). Warwick greeting me upon my late night arrival and he was helpful in every way and made my stay very pleasant. This hotel has a... More

Excellent location near the Esplanade where lots of restaurants and shops are located. Our room included the breakfast which was great. You could eat indoors or out on the patio near the pool. Our room was small and located along a outdoor walkway on the 2nd floor. Room was fine for 3 night stay, but bathroom--especially tub were a bit... More

Stayed one night here as our flight schedule was changed so we had to book a hotel quickly. We stayed in city view room which was good value for the money, hotel is close to the city center and esplanade, big king size bed, clean and tidy. Bathroom was average and we noticed that one of taps was broken which... More

Good pricing and close to a the esplanade. Spent 4 days there and I was really satisfied with mostly everything. Only "bad" thing is the windows. In my room, all the windows were placed out against the stairs and door walk witch gives it a bit of "motely feeling".I had to have the window blinds down 24/7. So check that... More

I stayed for one night. Nice rooms but bathrooms could use an upgrade. Good location: short walk to town or the esplanade. They have free breakfast but it ends at 9am and when your there to relax, waking up early was not on my agenda so I didn't get to try it . .would have been nice for them to... More
