Stayed here one night only. Was big BBQ on night we stayed, garden full of tables and ful of people but we couldn't get a seat which was a shame. Staff are nice, young crowd. Dorm room average, stayed in 3 bed. Arranged transfer to airport which was easy.

Stayed here for four nights over New Year. All the staff were very friendly, especially Marco on the front desk who was super helpful in helping get us onto some busy trips and with ideas of what to do with our free time. The bus into town is a really nice touch. The room where nice and clean with plenty... More

Wow what a place. We stayed for four nights during a stay over the Xmas period. We arrived and Tropic Days appeared to have rough exterior from the outside. We checked in with the manageress who was always so helpful and very friendly. The reception staff also help book tours and excursions you want to partake in. The room was... More

This hostel was fantastic! We planned to stay for 3 nights and ended up staying for a week! It had everything you could need, FREE wifi (tricky to find in Oz), lovely swimming pool, hammocks, gardens, pool table. The hostel was made up of two buildings, each had their own upstairs kitchen with everything you could need and cosy seating... More

Our family of four stayed here for three nights in early December. The hostel is well kept, clean, and the staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful. Mickey and Chelsea were great. We enjoyed the weekly BBQ and tried all kinds of meat - kangaroo, emu, croc etc. Our room was a good size and very comfortable. Have to pay for... More

I genuinely feel like every hostel everywhere should be forced to go here to see how a hostel is supposed to be run. This is just the very best of places to stay! Not really central but they run a lot of free shuttle buses which makes it extremely easy to move around. Taxi from town is about 10 AUS... More

They don't get much better than this. Great helpful staff, tasty BBQ, really nice atmosphere, cosey hammocks, homely rooms... The list could go on. It is a bit further from town but it's close to supermarket and good exercise - there is also the option of a free shuttle bus.

Me and my girlfriend went up to Cairns for a few days so I could do my skydive and see a bit of cairns before heading back to Airlie beach and decided to stay at Tropic Days as people we had met raved about it so much. Upon arrival it was a great little hostel, the staff were welcoming and... More

This is the only place I've stayed in Cairns and I felt great. Although its location is a little bit far away from downtown, but they have shuttle bus to drive you to town 9 times a day, for free, of course. And you'll hard to miss it because the drive will call "Bus to town!" every time before they... More

Definitely the best hostel to stay at in cairns. The best staff for organising your stay and anything you want to try in cairns. The best is the bbq night where you get to sample croc emu and kangaroo aswell as play the didgerdoo :)
