We stayed at dream time for the first few days of a long trip through Oz. We arrived out of checkout time but following the sent instructions to access the security gate was easy, as was accessing the room key from a safe in the communal area. We booked a double room owing to the low cost and fact that... More

Stayed here recently in a twin room. Beds were probably the best hostel beds I've ever stayed in! The staff were very friendly. I really have to thank the american girl on reception (sorry I can't remember your name) she went all around looking to get me the best deal on a scuba diving experience and she really did find... Upon arriving at the hostel, the attendant came out to greet us and kindly took us through the check-in process. Within the first 10minutes of being settled in, I knew this was the right place to book. It was a nice atmosphere in the courtyard, with it continuing to a nice room and a well equipped kitchen and bathroom adjacent... More

We recently stayed for 7 nights going off in between for a few days on trips. It's a very clean hostel and a nice group of people staying there of all ages. It's not a party hostel but one where you can sleep, rest and cook in peace and quiet (supermarket just over the road). Chris on reception was fantastic and... More

The rooms and facilities were great. The beds were comfortable and rather large. The receptionists were kind and informative; they helped us a lot, both in booking rides/attractions and in finding other sleeping arrangements when they fully booked. This place is a level above the others, and offers a lot for its price.

I stayed 8 nights at Dreamtime, and I really enjoyed my time. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed and it's really easy to be social. The room was nice and clean and cozy, and the facilities were cleaned on a daily basis. The hostel also organizes activities for travellers, like movienights, bbq nights, pizza nights and so on. The staff... More

Clean, big, great wifi (free), helpful staff, walking distance to centre. The only negative point if I really have to say one are the worn out pots and pans in the kitchen so not the best place to cook yourself. For sure recommended and I would stay here again when in Cairns.

My first hostel in Australia & am hoping that all future ones are as fantastic. Great hostel, laid back vibe, friendly & knowledgeable team. Slightly off the main drag, a 10 minute walk to the Esplanade & Lagoon but made for a good nights sleep. Would definitely stay again

A lovely clean and character filled hostel with very friendly staff. We had a double room which was perfectly adequate and also had a fridge and fan. Great food and beers in the green ant down the street! Highly recommended for quieter, chilled out hostel accommodation in Cairns.

This was the first hostel I'd stayed in in Australia and I would heartily recommend it. Clean, relaxed atmosphere, incredibly helpful and friendly staff who sorted out all the trips/activities I wanted to do, free tea/coffee in morning/evening (during reception hours) and free wifi, although I could never get it to work (I have a Samsung mobile but I think...
