Especially the cute receptionist Amin who really made my stay in Cairns memorable. The rooms were great and clean, no bugs. Air con made the nights easy and the good vibes spread by the staff made me go to sleep wit a smile on my face everyday.

Had a really nice time, everyone is chilled and open and friendly. It's a really fun party hostel and easy to settle in. The staff were great, Alex is really friendly and up for a party - absinthe is not a good idea! I'm 18 and really enjoyed it, the staff played a big part in making sure everyone was... More

I stayed in 3 hostels in Cairns, and this was my favorite. I spent 10 days here. It's a little off the beaten path so it is a bit of a walk, but the walk is worth it compared to the other options for hostels I stayed at. The kitchen is big and functional, there is lots of storage space... More

When we arrived in Cairns, we first went to this hostel - and we felt weclome right at the beginning! Asylum is different compared to other hostels, but in a good way. It's like a family. The staff is very friendly - special thanks to Alex, Armin and AK and all the other staff members! You're awesome, just stay the... More

My first hostel on my Australia trip and one of the best hostels so far. Planed stay was 3 days what ended up in 3 weeks. To be honest at the first look the hostel doesn't seem very likely to stay in but if you don't care so much about very clean rooms etc. and high tech, new buildings &... More

Asylum is a great hostel for backpackers that don't have too high standards and are on a budget. It's super fun with organized parties, helpful and friendly staff, a cool outdoor beachy chill out-area. You can bring your own alcohol (very unusual) and they even have a special "booze-fridge" in the reception by the chill out-area. Cheap BBQ-nights. Not super... More

There is a special uncomfortable atmosphere!!! The stuff was unfriendly and complicated. It was dirty! Also you can´t pay with your CreditCard. Go somewhere else. I there are some better hostels than this one.
