I wanted to stay in Cairns longer than a couple of days and for me, the Nomads wasn't the right hostel. It is a 30 minutes walk away from the center/lagoon/supermarket,... and I don't like being dependant on the times of a shuttle bus. Nevertheless it's a good service. The staff was always nice and the 3 $ meal is... More

The kitchen was never clean, we didn't like cooking in it - you always have to look twice if the thing you want to use is clean! The room was quite gooe, but it has a ugly smell in it. On the reception are many travellers working, means it takes you loooong time for everything or to get a rarely... More

So we checked in really late (after midnight). The rooms are nothing special. There was an air conditioner- which was welcomed. The beds were clean (though the pillows and mattress were average at best). The room smelled- but everything appeared clean. We crashed shortly after 1 on a Thursday night. Unfortunately we had a room close to reception- and it... More

This hostel has great facilities, large lagoon style pool, beach volley ball etc. We booked a king room at a reasonable price and had our own ensuite & fridge. We were pretty impressed with the room. Shower was great, and the air con was free. The only downside to this was the staff. There was a rude guy (i think... More

This was one of the worst places I have stayed in on the whole of the East Coast. The staff were consistently rude and clearly didn't care one bit about helping you out. The bathrooms have little black flies everywhere, all over the toilet seats, in sinks. Upon telling the night manager one night the response was "make a formal... More

I stayed here for just one night on my way back from Lizard Island. This is a large fun backpackers with a nice looking pool and bar, and pretty much what you'd expect from a backpackers. It was pretty lively, and felt safe and clean. The room was sparse but nice and bright and the bed was super comfy and... More

Read title of review, Enough said..... This place is the bomb! We recently came up to Cairns for the Cairns Cup horse meeting and had a great weekend. When I checked in I met the beautiful Marion Dutertre who went out of her way to make our stay very enjoyable. She was always smiling and helpful. I highly recommend staying... More

My stay started with a warm welcome and efficient and quick check-in by Marion (speaks fluently English, Dutch and French). She walked me up to my room and offered to help me with carrying my luggage. I had to change some of my booking dates and Marion helped me quickly with no fuss. I stayed in a Queen and King... More

I stayed here for about a month and it was definitely the most comfortable and accommodating of hostels I have stayed in (been in Australia 10 months now). Yes it is out of central town but they have a shuttle to and from town every hour. It is spitting distance from the end of the esplanade so you can stroll... More
