tropic towers does what it says, self contained apartments of a reality good standard. I have stayed here many times, all rooms are very similar, located a few kilometres from Cairns central, although a little dated, it suits my purpose, staff are friendly and happy to help, and will organise late check I'm after hours if required

The room was spacious but starting to show its age. Wear and tear obvious and will get worse if no money is spent on updating furniture and decor. Looked clean but a bit of a damp or mouldy smell when we went into the room. It is under the flightpath of the nearby airport and on the side of a... More

Nice and neat and clean and value for money. quite location. overall a good place to stay. The pool area looked good although we didn't take advantage because we were so busy. This place is worth considering if you are looking for a family apartment with reasonable wheelchair access.

We booked two nights thru wotif.com. On arrival at 3.30pm reception was closed & phones not answered for over an hr (recep supposed to be open 7am-7pm). Was just about to leave a cancellation note and go elsewhere when phone was finally answered. Wotif booking had not come thru apparently, tho this doesn't explain the closure of recep in middle... Convenient location, very helpful staff. Noise of planes wasnt too bad. There was a little noise at night from people living next door but overall a good place to stay. The pool area looked good although we didnt take advantage because we were so busy.

Well established hotel on Sheridan street. Short drive from airport but unfortunately right under the flight path for a southerly take off. Flights start at 6am prompt. If you are towards the road the road noise competes if you open the balcony door. Beds were very hard making sleep a bit difficult. I had to dispatch one cockroach from the... More

Stayed here in October of 2011 with family visiting from the states to tour the Great Barrier Reef. The rooms were clean and the furnishing comfortable but not luxurious. The grounds were small but well kept. The front office staff was very helpful in recommending and booking tours. The location is pretty far removed from the CBD, I made the... More

I've stayed here several times while en-route to Japan via Cairns to Osaka .. it is well equiped with practical items .. laundry and kitchen .. a little away from Cairns City and Central and far from any restaurants or shopping outlets but is comfortable .. I would recommend for tourists who were wanting to hire a car and explore... More

From the minute you walk into Tropic Towers you feel good, with all the greenery, clean surrounds, and the very welcoming and attentive staff on reception. There is good parking, and a lovely clean pool. The floor that we were on was spotless and we found it very quiet. We had a one bedroom apartment and found for the two... More
