My family had a comfortable 2day stay at d cairns colonial club. The front reception were professional yet friendly and patiently directed us around d resort with maps , breakfast times, info reg bus shuttle to d city centre. D rooms alloted to us were renovated ones I guess because it was very clean and v didn't find anything wanting.... More

This place was the ONLY hotel I could find that allowed me to book a "Day Room" during a 13 hour layover. The staff were so helpful even before I got there, answering all my emails and questions and letting me book a room via email. It was such a relief that after an 8 hour flight we had somewhere... Old rooms, old beds, old equipment....everything was old and not properly maintained. Restaurant was clearly understaffed (and the present staff seemed not to care), service and food were low quality with not properly prepared meals and empty salad bar. Disorganised floor staff and poorly prepared low qualityy meals made the night not worth for both experience and money.Reception staff seemed... More

We have stayed here about seven or eight times. The time before this was six years ago. Everything has been down graded apart from the price. No more food at the pool, no spa at the poolside, food at the restaurant very poor. Resort bus used to be free. Won't stay there again, used to be our favourite hotel in... More

Nice enough resort, seemingly full of rooms with multiple single beds (nothing I like better on holiday than not sharing a bed with my husband). Hotel patrons were very noisy all through the night, past midnight and right through until 4am. Even ear plugs didn't make a difference. Breakfast was pretty average quality, with dirty tables and plates piled high.... More

Stayed 1 night when flight cancelled so no doubt we weren't given best room. Very dated interior , shower awful , dribbled out , rust stains . Bed clean and large bed. Staff friendly - shuttle to town was very good. Breakfast expensive and a bit basic. Pools were excellent but again in need of maintenance . Overall place is... More

I reasonable hotel to stay at. Its showing its age. Close enough to airport and a taxi ride to Cairns city. Nothing special. The evening meals were good and tasty. Rooms are showing their age, but were clean. Staff friendly

This hotel lies somewhere between budget and luxury hotel. Prices very reasonable. The gardens and facilities are excellent. The rooms are well appointed, clean and comfortable, but a little dated and soon will require attention. The staff are very friendly and helpful, I watched one receptionist dealing with a very difficult customer and she was extremely professional. I had two... More

I was a club member for many many years, but this year I was choc to see how run down the club is.The Colonial Club went to the Accord group then to Ibis & now privately own. Not a friendly place anymore. The pricing is very good, $50 a night but do not expect much for that price, A bowl... More

I stayed at the Cairns Colonial Club resort again for business on 17 March 2015. I booked online through their website and, for $118.00 for the night (midweek) and including full buffet breakfast I got an upgrade to a large room with a view of one of the smaller, but more private swimming pools. I like this place because it... More
