We stayed here for 3 nights on a recent tour around Australia. The hotel is outside the main centre of Cairns but it is a really nice hotel in lovely grounds. The lagoon style pools were fantastic. Staff were extremely helpful. We did get a huge cockroach in our room one day - no problem we were in the tropics... More

A sprawling place, reminiscent of a 1950s British holiday camp with chalets all over the resort. The room itself was clean and the bed was comfortable. I would like to know whose idea it was not to have a bedside table on the left hand side of the queen bed; I had to put my water glass, specs and book... More

Rooms are basic but very clean, beds are comfortable and resort staff amazing. 3 pools on offer so choice is there, and the food and service at restaurant awesome. Jack was exceptional in the restaurant. All in all had a relaxing couple of days

Needs updating badly. Not close to anything. Has own restaurant which serves good food. Service was adequate but nothing special. Rooms are very basic and in need of updating. No booklet of what they have to offer so there was a lot of back and forth to the reception. Bit expensive for what you get.

Overall our experience at the Cairns Colonial Club was great! The staff were lovely, warm and friendly at all times and made us feel welcome right away. There are 3 lagoon-style pools which each have their own distinct feel, which meant that no matter what type of atmosphere we wanted (fun and populated, quiet and tranquil etc) there was somewhere... We've had a great stay. The pools are beautiful. The staff made us feel very welcome. One staff member who went above and beyond was Jack. He provided exceptional service in the Restaurant and entertained my boys while I ate. Thanks Jack - we don't find this service every day 😊

We booked in for one night as we were heading to Fitzroy Island the next morning. The first room we were given reeked of cigarette smoke. I complained to the receptionist, and she swapped us to another room and that room smelled damp and musty. I returned to the receptionist who offered to upgrade me to another room, but after... My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights in December. Having stayed here in 2001 and loved it I wanted to return. Pretty much ok all round. The room was 1 new bathroom away from being very nice whilst the pools are epic. We didn't eat in the main restaurant but did eat at the poolside bar. The food... More

We stayed in this resort on 22nd November,14 till 24th November,14. Perhaps this is the only resort in Cairns to have 3/4 star facility. It is a two stories hotel building spread on the Ground floor and some rooms on FF. All rooms are excellently maintained. It has very vast compound. Morning breakfast is very nice. From airport it is... More
