No point in having a no noise after 11pm policy if nobody takes any notice and there's nobody to enforce it. Shame that some people don't think that the late night mutual respect request doesn't apply to them. We've all done the party/ drink/ travel thing ...... and whilst talking/ laughing/ playing of videos and you tube clips is fine,... More

Stayed two nights and wasn't that impressed. The walls were thin, you could hear everything. Having said that, it does have a noise restriction at night. The curtains were see through. You have to pay for the air con, which wasn't needed while we were there. The bed was ok but the pillows were terrible. Might as well not have... More

About 20min walk from the Esplanade center. We had a nice quiet stay. This hostel has a no noise policy after 10pm so great for us that prefer a nice rest rather than huge parties. AC is $1/$2 so remember coins. The room (double) and showers were clean. Even though there was only 1 shower on our floor we never... More

This place has definite high and low points. The free wifi was awesome (even though it frequently went down) and the noise restrictions were good if you had to wake up early for a tour. The noise restrictions did cut back on the ability to socialize with others in the hostel though. At the same time, the facilities were not... More

Quiet and clean hostel! Very nice staff and lovely owner! Very easy going! No party hostel and not too much bloody kids around! Pleasant people from different countries and different culture! It was nice having a beer and watching the world cup together! Rooms, bathrooms and kitchens almost new! if you want to enjoy the sun and relax this is... More

The hostel is okay but the owner is a very bad person ! The hostel is like a jail , you can't do anything . No smoke , no drink , no music , not stay outside after 10pm etc... They are just looking for money

This hostel doesn't deserve the high ratings it's got. It was full of weird Europeans in their 30s. The place felt so quiet and small. It was a fairly long walk away from the centre of town. It may be ok to live in if you just want some peace and quiet, but gilligans had better facilities and a far... More

It is the worst hostel i ever been. The kitchen dirty without plates forks, no space in the fridge . The stuff probably was the worst. Very poor speaking italian stuff. They were doing totally nothing. It seemed like they come for vacation not for work. The sunbeds in the garden were occupied by all the stuff !! The "crystal... More

We stayed here in a double room, which was $50 a night! Bargain! You can't reAlly complain for thAt price! The kitchens and bathrooms were pretty good, they were kept clean and were new looking. The staff were very helpful and friendly. There was a bit of trouble with some guests whilst we were staying, but the owners came in... More

I stayed in globetrotters for several weeks, a lovely hostel with great service and very friendly staff. Free wifi, relaxed atmosphere. Although it's quite far away, the prices are low and the standard of the hostel high. I'll definitely go back there if I'm ever heading to cairns again, felt like a little home.
