I was mortified to read Kylie-marree's review. As manager my sole aim is to provide economical accommodation that is clean and in good repair. I employ a reputable cleaning contractor and I inspect every room before it is occupied. I am sure that the room was clean before Kylie moved in. I re-inspected the room after I saw this review.... The Oasis Inn is conveniently located, close to Cairns Airport, the city centre and the waterfront. However, being located on the main road into the city as well as directly below the flight path for the airport, it is very noisy. The air conditioning was inadequate and noisy and the facilities in the room extremely basic. The manager did at... More

No air conditioning in kids room.although there was a air con in the lounge and main bed room it was not sufficient. The furniture was very out dated and beds uncomfortable. Had planned to stay 5 nights but got our refund for 4 nights and found accomendation else where. Wasnt to our liking

The place was not as advertised, very old needs renovating, inclusions were out of date. It's to far from everything - no shops nearby, the unit we had been given was upstairs and we had to climb a steep set of concrete steps

Yes the Oasis is an older property but we take pride in keeping it clean and in good repair. The apartments are spacious with comfortable furniture and it is reasonably priced. There is one medium sized, 24 hour supermarket, two convenience stores, three restaurants, a bakery, a delicatessen and more than five take-away shops within five minutes walk. Some guests... More

Recently, my wife and I stayed at Unit 19 at the Oasis Inn. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the Unit had been recently renovated with a new kitchen, a new vanity unit in the bathroom and the installation of a large wardrobe with sliding doors in the bedroom. This does not include all the other extras that were... More

We stayed there twice to allow us to travel to the far north. Mike is very accommodating and stored our bags while we were up north. A half hour stroll down the Esplanade to the CBD which is a must do in Cairns. And only $16 cab to airport. Very good value for money. Would stay for longer if back... More

The studio sized room contained everything we needed for our stay, however the bed was not overly comfortable. The room was very clean, although there was a minor fire ant problem. The staff were friendly and helpful. Fairly close to the esplanade.

Thanks for your comments. We are gradually replacing beds and other furniture and fixtures. As for the ants; we have the professionals in twice a year and we spray pyrethrum based insecticide when we spot the little critters but hey, it is the tropics, and ants live here too. The first line of defence is to keep a clean kitchen. More
