I wanted a quiet, near-to-city b&b or similar for this leg of my Queensland trip, and found Edward Lodge to be a real find. As said elsewhere in the good reviews, it is quiet - a must for me - and the one exception I found to that was once early a.m. on the ground floor when people were going... More

Stayed mid June 2014. Ray & Barb have greatly improved Edward Lodge. We have stayed before but this time we certainly noticed the difference. The rooms are fresh, clean and beautifully decorated. Actually its so nice walking into the rooms presented as they are, they just feel good! The value is excellent The guests dining / lounge area is much... More

Ray and Barb treat you like part of their family, you feel like you have known them all your life! Edward Lodge is a lovely old home in a beautiful suburb, close to the river, the Brisbane ferries, shopping centre, park etc. An ideal location in a quiet street, away from the bustle of the city, but on its doorstep!... Located in a quieter, leafy part of New Farm, Edward Lodge is well located for restaurants, cafés and shops without the bustle of the northern end of the peninsula. Close to the river, the ferry and a lovely park. A short stroll to the Powerhouse. The owners are friendly and welcoming, the place is comfortable and clean. Serve yourself breakfast... More

The Edward Lodge is in the nicer and quieter part of New Farm. It's located in a leafy suburban street off the main Brunswick Street that runs right through New Farm and so there's lots of (free) street parking and the bus / ferry is just a stone's throw away within walking distance. I like old houses with character and... More

The Edward Lodge is accommodation with character. The place is oldish but very adequate for a night out in Brisbane celebrating New Years. Very clean and nice touches added to the room we had. It also includes a simple breakfast. I highly recommend it.

This looks like an old house or previous boarding house building. Everything seemed pretty old and in need of some work. The walls of the rooms needed to be painted and the carpet looked worn. It's location is good, and they have a breakfast area where you can make your own light breakfast which was nice.

The couple running the place were really warm and friendly and made us feel at home. We got an upgrade and the room was perfect and very clean.Excellent value for money. You can even do your laundry here just for 5 $ . If you´re looking for a more relaxed and quite place to stay this is definetly the place... More

Staff went out of their way to help, felt like home, basic breakfast that you help yourself to, but is all you need. Old building with charm. Owners only bought it a few months ago and were doing some maintenance. Can't wait to see the changes next time we stay. Very comfortable large rooms. Not overly sound proof, but that's... More

My wife and I had decided to spend a weekend in Brisbane after attending the recent Caravan & Camping Expo in June 2013. We had decided to book in at Edward Lodge due to its proximity to all the important amenities and feel we had made a really good decision. The king size bed was so comfortable all thanks to... More
