First the good: This is a charming heritage B&B with nicely decorated bedrooms all ensuite. We stayed in the king room (1) which did have the sink and tub in the room which was a little odd, but also a fireplace and period furniture. There is a communal refrigerator in the hall with coffee, milk, bisquits and mugs for anytime... more

We arrived Friday afternoon with our key left in the hallway. Our room was up some very grubby carpeted stairs. The airconditioning had not been turned on for our arrival and the unit was very hot and smelt of mold. There was a fridge with no milk and no coffee mugs to be found. The communal kitchen was locked and... more

I have read the other reviews and can see their points, though the earlier ones about the place being dirty must have been before the change of owners, as the place was extremely clean, with good towels and linen. We actually enjoyed our stay here, the front room we had was large, and well furnished, with lovely polished wood floors.... more

Read the other reviews as well before making up your mind. The positive aspects were its great location from Roma Station..you can walk with suitcases although it is up a little hill. There are some wonderful restaurants within a couple of minutes. We liked the Thai place even though the inside stank of Janola..we sat outside and was most impressed... more

This is an attractive, wonderfully equipped B&B close to the city centre. It’s an historic, Queenslander style house with a small garden, that has been converted into a B&B, on a mixed occupancy type street. There are youth hostels, office blocks and one or two other residential homes. The building is absolutely charming & has complementary drink-making, laundry & ironing... more

Our first contact was with an extremely unhelpful staff member who made us feel that our arrival was an imposition on her time. Very ungraciously, she allowed us to store our luggage during the day. She was quite brusque. Nor friendly at all. The rooms, from what we could see, varied in size. At least one of them was really... more

We are sorry to read about the less than adequate experience with our staff from some of the reviewers here. But we have taken note and as of 1 July 2008, we have employed a new onsite staff member, whom we trust is better able to provide friendly customer focused service to all our customers.

There's a lot to like about this place. It's centrally located and yet has some charm to it, unlike a big hotel. The building is historic, I believe, and looks like an traditional Australian cottage. And the price was quite good for the location. I would recommend NOT choosing the upstairs room even though it's large - for some reason... more

We decided on this place because it was quite central, without being near the CBD and we didn't have to worry about breakfast. As it turns out, traffic is not an issue. Extremely loud crows are... and more annoyingly, it's in the crook of the train lines, which start at about 4.30am. If you are anything but a heavy sleeper,... more
