Working in Honiara, Solomon Islands means transiting through Brisbane often being the only good international connecting point. And it also means overnighting on many occasions. I have tried other hotels near the airport but on this visit found the Kingsford Riverside Inn the most attractive for more than one reason. First I just sent them an email for reservation and... I stayed there last week for 2 nights for $200. The price was absolutely fantastic for the room and the service you get at this lovely and familiar hotel. The location was great as well. It is located on the main street, but you really can't hear any of the noises. You can reach the city in 15 minutes with... More

This hotel offers great affordable accommodation with good transport links to the city centre through the citycat and local buses. The staff are friendly and welcoming especially Thomas who could not be more helpful. I arrived very early on Saturday morning on a flight from Scotland and Thomas was ready to greet me. Even when I asked to do laundry at... More

Paid $105 for a room that is so outdated for example tv still uses a digital top box.when they say on the main road the mean it literally.good luck with the traffic noise all night.will have to give this one a miss in future.

I hardly know what to say... You didn't notice then, that the set top box was connected to a 32 inch flat screen Plasma TV set, with perfect reception, perfect sound, and a perfect picture? You could have stayed in other places in Hamilton/Ascot area and paid about $280 per night, then paid extra for your internet, and more again... More

As a regular contributor to Tripadvisor this is one of my more unusual reviews as I am doing this on behalf of myself & my 17 year old daughter. My daughter was travelling to Brisbane for a concert so you can imagine how concerned I was. I managed to get her & her friend booked into the last available room... More

Hello Denise, thank you for your kind review! We do get teen groups every now and then, for concerts, Supernova, the odd swimming team, (Fortitude valley Olympic pool is just round the corner) junior cricket clubs, and they're invariably lively, outgoing and fun! Our building has a comfortable and homely feeling, and the informal atmosphere helps them to feel at... More

We booked one night here. We only needed a bed for a few hours after a long flight from the UK before our connection to Auckland. Upon arrival we realised that we had left the key to one of our suitcases 1000's of miles away in the UK. Disaster! Michael (I think? It was late and I was jet lagged)... More

Thank you Mufuz, appreciate your input! Those vertical blinds in our rooms will slide along to block the entire window area, and they actually rotate through 180 degrees, so you can have as much (or as little) exposure to the street as you would wish! Unless you're on the ground floor, the angle is bit steep for anyone to see... More

We got off to a very bad start as we arrived for a 3 night stay here. Our arrival time was 0050 and we had booked pick-up from the airport through Agoda. This didn't happen and we eventually arrived by taxi at 0230. Our arrival seemed to come as a surprise to Michael who apologised explaining that they do not... More

Hello Jack, Thank you for your balanced report. Certainly arriving in the middle of the night after wasting time looking for non-existent transport doesn't do a lot for anyone's morale! We make no secret of being a budget hotel, but we're a good one! As you discovered, we're quite comfy and relaxed, and although basic, we do have all the... More

This is really the best place to stay in brisbane. It's simply the best value for money you can get. It's very clean and the staff is friendly and helpfull. Great locations with view of the river and parking facilities. You can easily make day trips to sunny coast or Gold coast. I can really recommend this place! Great value... More

This hotel is nasty. Scary, Creepy and run down. They lure you in at the airport if you don't have a room booked. You share a bathroom, much like a dorm in college. The rooms are filthy, out of date and I think mold was coming through our walls. They charged us $100 for the room, the door barely closed.... More

In common with many accommodation businesses we maintain a freecall phone at the airport. It's quite amusing to have answering the phone defined as "luring" someone to the hotel! I must admit that this guest did arrive during some of the darkest skies and heaviest rain Brisbane has seen since the city was flooded out in 2011, but I don’t... More
