I stayed at Bowen Terrace with my son at the end of June 2014. The atmosphere is very friendly and the host Maria, very accommodating. It is set up very well for shared accommodation. On Sunday's Maria cooks up a storm with her crepe's and everyone is invited to join her for lunch (bring your own topping). There are some... More

* The accommodation was in a good location - close to cafés, city, parks and shopping. * Staff that I spoke to were friendly. * Accommodation was very clean. * Was concerned about security in the evenings as the locking of the front door relies on guests ensuring the door is unlatched and locked. * Didn't like that the laundry... What do you call a place that has no staff on attendance after 18h00, rowdy kids coming in at midnight and people waking you up at 6am in the communal showers next door? You are right: a hostel. And how do you call a place that presents this kind of features, but that charges hotel rates? You are right: a... More

We stayed here while travelling the East Coast in December, the rooms were immaculate and the kitchen and shower rooms were always clean and tidy. The front desk was really helpful with lots of tips on where to stay. We pretty much walked everywhere and recommend catching the free fastcat to Southbank. I recommend the little bakery/coffee shop just a... More

Stayed one night to visit children in New Farm, location good, walked to the river enjoyed coffee at the Powerhouse & World photo exhibition. Bowen Terrace is lovely Queensland house, happy with Queen ensuite, comfortable night sleep. The only thing not so good was the coffee cups, 1 large 1 small & not so clean to enjoy a cuppa, couldn't... More

What a great place friendly quite and clean not to mention great price! So close to everything no need to worry. If you are there on a Thursday Trivia night recommended. It was a good experience and you can even cook your own meals I liked the fact that the place was so close.

I have stayed here three times and have recommended to friends and family who have also enjoyed the quaint queenslander style accom. We always stay in rooms with private ensuite. Situated in New Farm- plenty of restos around and 10 min walk to the city.

I have never been to Australia before and had not stayed in a hostel in nearly a decade. I was pleasantly surprised by how great Bowen Terrace was. It was not all teenagers getting drunk every night and loud parties, so if that's what you're looking for, then this is not the place for you. Instead it's in a quiet... More

Really enjoyed our stay here. Would recommend it to anyone heading into brisbane for a few days. It's a small quiet hostel, which is a nice change from the usual traveler's fare. There's a nice sized kitchen, a washing machine and laundry powder though no tumble dryer. You also get free wifi for two hours a day. There's a printer... More

My 1st contact with the accommodation was when I called and spoke to Maria to get advice on how best to get from the airport. I was given clear instructions. I arrived and checked in. I found Maria to be excellent at the job of checking people in, but also at booking tours and giving advice on where to go... More
