My boyfriend and I booked three nights here and got one night sleep. The room was fine, but being located in the seedy side of Fortitude Valley, the Motel attracts a lot of people who are staying there to party. That would be fine if the hotel management could control them. One night people held a party in the room... more

I was a return visitor to City Palms with my family. Tony the manager was friendly and informative, both upon arrival and when booking on the toll-free phone number. Assisting the City Palms position as a backpackers motel, the manager speaks perfect english and manadarin, is well travelled, and knowledable about several cultures. The motel is cheap and perfectly located... more

The room was compact but very clean and tidy. The cooking facilities were a great advantage. Given the very reasonable cost of the room I can highly recommend this motel. more

I stayed here for 4 nights and enjoyed every moment of it. A nice place to just kick back and enjoy a homely feel without being at home. The rooms are great, very clean and tidy. I loved the mini kitchen which meant i could save on food costs as i could make dinner myself and enjoy other pleasures while... more

We, unfortunately, found ourselves trying to find a room on Jul 15, when the Rugby game was going on in town. I've been in many crappy hotels in the US. This place was a little better. Tony was a helpful guy. He arranged for us to have the "last room in the place"- room 34. It had no operating windows,... more

I stayed here January 09. The man at the check-in was friendly and directed me to my room. It had a nice balcony and was bigger than what I was expecting, if a little old in style. The cooking facilities in the room were basic, microwave, sink, 2 hotplates, bar fridge. This was an older style motel but had good... more

What a disgusting mouldy dump. Booked on the internet where it promised "convenience in Fortitude Valley minutes from shopping and night life of Brisbane City". Could not be further from the truth it is a long way to Brisbane city and not even close to the main shops in Fortitude Valley. "Luxury accommodation at budget prices" An outright lie on... more

Close to the Vally which is why it was booked. Room was gross, the bed was next to 2 walls so to get out of it you had to crawl down the end of the bed. There was no kitchen, only a kitchen bench, that was right next to your head when you were sleeping. The toliet/bathroom was seriously 1M... more

My sister -in-law booked this motel for us as we had planned a night out whilst I was visiting her from Wales. She hadn't read these reviews before booking but I looked on here when I knew that she had booked. To be honest with you I was really worried as the other reviews were terrible and I didn't know... more
