You get what you paid for here, so, not much. The location is quite good, the staff was friendly, but that doesn't make up for the rest. I stayed in an 8 bed dorm room for almost one week. Very, very basic. There were only two fans in the room, and I don't mean ceiling fans. Needless to say it... More

We stayed for a couple of nights in November, then came back 2 days later! We had a double room with air-con....great as it was so hot! The room was clean and staff fantastic. Didn't use the kitchen so can't comment. We used hostel world to book and the guy said they over charged so reduced the price....can't get better... More

I recommend staying here. I love this place!!!! Stayed for a month and it felt like home. Luckily I got to stay in balcony rooms almost the whole time, they are definitely the nicest both view-wise and room-wise. The staff is amazing! Never been at a place with such friendly staff, they are always there to help. TV room with... More

We stayed here for one night in September in a private room. The building is very old looking and made of wood, so it looks a bit grubby and cobwebby and not very appealing. The room was very very basic, pretty much just two single beds. There were no lockers and the room didn't seem really secure but we had... More

Myself and 3 others stayed here as our base to get to work. We were on a working holiday visa and hadn't got long term accomodation and were very fortunate to book out the 4bed dorm. It had one double bed, a bunk bed, TV, fridge and air con. I was quite impressed at the comfort of the room but... More

The West End area was great to have close by, and the bus to southbank and the library (and to the transit centre) were really useful. the whole hostel could really use an upgrade and it seemed like there was only one bathroom to fight over on the second floor(?) Staff were really friendly and happy to help with any... More

First time backpacker, landed in Brisbane no room sorted, rang them at night and within minutes they pointed me to connxions bus service, single room was basic but bed was comfy. Bring a set of warm socks to sleep in during winter. Free shuttle bus to the city every hour and the staff are alway ready to give advise or... More

I've stayed at a lot of backpackers across the country and Somewhere to Stay does have a lot going for it: large rooms, free wifi, large open areas, pool, good cooking facilities, not a bad pricing for your stay and very close proximity to the city eateries and larger supermarkets.Staff are helpful and knew the area, transport facilities and what... It's a nice place, but the building looks quite worn out. The room I was in was too small for all the stuff that everyone had. The kitchen around diner time was way too crowded. But the balcony view over Brisbane was very nice, a good place to hangout
