Were only here for two nights but would recommend it for those looking for somewhere reasonably priced to stay. The hostel looked like it could do with a revamp and the room was bit grubby but the overall atmosphere was good and for what we needed it for it suited. Staff were lovely though and very helpful plus they run... More

Somewhere to stay... If they don't have the cleanest rooms, they have the nicest staff members ! Whatever the time they are always available to help you ! Big cinema room, big kitchen, hips of space to chill out, swimming pool, laundry facilities... A little bite far away from the CBD but they have a free shuttle dropping of at... More

When I arrived at Brisbane Airport I called the hostel and they sent out a free shuttle bus to pick me up. That was great; no walking around with my heavy luggage to find my way there. I stayed at the hostel for two nights. At the check-in I got fresh sheets and the key to my dorm. Eventually I... More

This place really has everything. Great location, clean facilities, fun, friendly and helpful staff, lots of areas to socialise or to relax, shuttle bus, BBQ, table football:) Overall it is extremely well run, making it a pleasant place to stay for both long and short termers. Highly recommended.

Don't stay in room 102! Very bad smell like something rotten! It was supposed to be a better room with tv and balcon, than the original room I had before. After my claim they offered me to change it, but I had all my clothes out the bag and I was only staying 2 days more. They gave me an... More

After a hellish first few days in Base central, Brisbane, I was somewhat apprehensive about my second stay in an Aus hostel. My fears turned out to be unfounded, what a gem this place is; set in a lovely looking traditional Queenslander, the friendly staff greeted us on arrival and very helpfully showed us where all the main areas and... Stayed in a double room which was very basic. Only had a single plug in fan. Staff were nice although the place does not really have that welcoming chilled out vibe. Kitchen was pretty grim and usually quite busy so we just for food out. Was quite a way from the city centre although they did offer free shuttle buses.... More

We stayed in SWTS for about four months unintentionally due to how captivating the environment was. There wasn't a moment we didn't feel welcomed. Staff were helpful in every respect possible and having the hostel bus to take you into town and the occasional supermarket run was also very useful. If you want to be surrounded by night life, necessities... More

Four of us booked a four bed, en-suite, and once I'd made the initial booking I emailed them and asked if we could request a balcony room. When we showed up, I was super stoked because we did have one of the balconies that faces the Brisbane skyline. The room itself was pretty basic, but we appreciated having a fridge... More

Let's get some context here first... I've traveled quite a bit staying in hostels, including many developing countries. This hostel, makes the ones in China, Cambodia, and even Mongolia look like 4 star hotels. The mattress was covered in mildew stains, the rooms stank, and everything was falling apart. There were signs of rot on the balconies, which is clear... More
