This is arguably amongst the worst places I have ever had the misfortune of staying. For 2 nights we were subjected to the staff stirring drunken guests into arguments and generally building up a rotten atmosphere. We only stayed for the second night because they held our passports behind the bar and wouldn't release them until we'd stayed for our... More

Uncomfortable, noisy and filthy place. The room was apparently newer cleaned. Bed was really uncomfortable. Kitchen was rotten filthy disaster. The staff was unfriendly and didn't care about anything. Do not go there!

In the last weekend I was there with my friend, it was little bit challenge to find this hostel, because it's upstairs of elephant bar and the sign is to small. I forgot to upload some pictures about this hostel for you, sorry because we missed the train to comeback ._. When we arrived, the reception is friendly enough to... More

First of all the picture you see here is not the backpacker Prince Consort...it is located a little bit far from the center of Brisbane, in Chinatown, even if in 10mn you are on Queen St, the main street. We arrived with our big luggage for one night (17$ for a 6-share dorm, cheap!) but surprise! the reception and the... More

My friend organised accommodation for our state of origin trip at the Consort Backpackers and I really wish she hadn't now since we ended up at the worst place a I have ever stayed. Front desk service was terrible and rooms were not cleaned properly. Sure the location is great but if I were to go back in time I... More

We stayed at the Prince Consort hostel for two nights and got an average of about 4 hours sleep the whole time. The room was filthy and clearly never got cleaned. It smelt vile, even though the balcony door was broken and therefore constantly open the fresh air didnt help. Due to the broken door every night until the early... More

We stayed in a 2/3 person private room from 27-30 march 2013. On our arrival we directly noticed that the staff girl was totally not interested in her work. We stayed in a private room, the room was big but did not had a window to get daylight or fresh air. The room was clean and tidy and there was... More

Hi there! I was reading some references from this hostel and firstly I was shocked, however, I decided to book myself in (I kinda had to because every other place was full) and give it a go out of curiosity. I was positively surprised and very happy I stayed at the Prince Consort. Of course, the place isn't new and... More

We just wanted to stay somewhere for the night for an early flight the next morning. We got there at 2pm and waited 20minutes before the reception even opened. We had booked a double room conplete with bar fridge abd aircon. What we got was a kids double bunk bed in a big empty room. Aircon didn't work and the... More

'Twas the eve of stereosonic and a very hot day, so my friends and I found a place to take refuge, 'Prince Consort Backpackers.' Never in my life have I experienced such a disaster. This place is honestly the most senile, disgusting, putrid and foul hell hole I have ever come across. Even people from 3rd world countries, who have... More
