Had a horrible time here! The hallway of the C building was smelled horrible. The room was dirty and smelly. The locks of the shower and toiletdoor were broken. Toilets were dirty. Staff was also rude!

Stayed only one night in city backpackers but really enjoyed it. Staff were nice also hostel overall is nice and cozy. We had studio with own bathroom which was definetly worth it. Location is good near the city. Railway tracks go nearby but they didn't bother us.

Not much to say really i stayed here for 2 months, it was a grand hostel for the price fairly central on Roma street , Some staff were unhelpful and arrogant , but to be fair you get that everywhere , good facilities , nice guests mainly Europeans . I would recommend if you are just landing in Australia .

When checking in the receptionist told us the hostel prides itself on being clean - that is far from the truth its minging!! Myself and two friends booked into an 8 bed mixed dorm which was so small no space to move. Key card didnt work to get into the room. Worst of all two guys were SELLING DRUGS FROM... More

We stayed in this hostel for 7 nights over the Christmas/New year period and it was more festering than festive! We booked a private room with a double bed which was actually a bunk bed with a slightly larger lower bunk. The bed used to be used as a device for interrogation in the middle ages so at least you... I stayed at City Backpackers with my boyfriend for 3 nights while travelling down the coast of Australia. It's only the 2nd hostel I've ever stayed in, but it didn't really meet my expectations. We booked a private room that had working air conditioning, and the room was a nice size, but the beds were really uncomfortable. The supports are... More

This place is a great place to stay, Central close to George street (15min walk). The place provide free movies, a pool, kitchen area, rooftop area, bar area, and free wifi ( very very slow wifi). The bathrooms were clean, I stayed in apartment C. I read that the dorm rooms smelt- YES the dorms smelt. It's the smell of... More

Nice hostel for backpackers that love to go out and meet new friends. Room are very small and sometimes with windows to the stairs or not to open. Guys are nice and friendly. The reception is open 24 hours and you have lots of things to do there like a cinema, pool or bar.

This hostel is located on the top of small hill. That view is amazing, especially in the evening and night. Otherwise this hostel is average. It is a really big hostel, and there is living so many people. Good thing is, that they have different sections for different kind a rooms. There was enough toilets and showers for everyone, even...
