This hostel was the best place I stayed in Australia. When I first arrived on my own all the staff were friendly and really helpful. There's a lady called Katie that helped me with all my trips, accommodation and travel up the east coast. I enjoyed it so much I booked it again with her. I spent Christmas Day 2014... More

Love this hostel, I stayed for quite some time and even though I was travelling up and down the coast we always wanted to stay here when we came back to Brissy.. Lovely fun and bubbly atmosphere with a bar that's lively and cheap 😜 This hostel is a GREAT place to meet people and make life long friends.. There... More

The hostel itself was alright i gues, if you like dirty, smelly, bad faned and crouded. And the people who work there are just terrible. They're slow, always busy with themselves and their colleages and some are just plain rude. If you have another option, sleep somewhere else!

Thank you for taking time to give us feedback. The rooms and en suites get cleaned on a daily basis, but as you can imagine in shared accommodation, these areas are used quite frequently. I am sad to hear that you had a bad experience with our staff members, as I work with them myself on a daily basis and... More

Terrible experience, wouldnt recommend to anyone. Staff are very fake with greeting their guests, no respect. Dirty bathrooms and dorms, look like they havn't been cleaned in months. Seems to be just full of people who are just trapped their for months on end with no escape. Drink, drugs and who knows what else...not a good, comfortable 'family' atmosphere like... More

Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback. We have cleaners who go through and clean each room and en suite every day, but as you can understand, being shared accommodation, the restrooms can get “used” rather quickly. We also have additional restrooms in the common area. We work really hard to run our Job Club, which is... More

Stayed 1 night here and that was 1 night too many. Room smelt and looked like something had died in it, it was so filthy and there was rubbish and people's unclean belongings absolutely everywhere. Mattresses were itchy and air con didn't work so felt like I was melting. Curtains also were falling off the wall. Our bathroom smelt so... More

It's my second home I stayed there for a long time on and off but it was my home over my 2 and a half years at australia, some of the greatest staff I've ever encountered so helpful full of banter and always looking out for the backpackers, very clean hostel they have 3 or 4 cleaners that clean every... I booked a special price for 7 days but I left after 5. Maybe I am too old for these Hostels but, the lights in my room where never off. It was noisy all the time. Not very clean. You need to give a deposit for everything in the kitchenarea and it's just a party place. When you are looking... More

Thank you for your feedback. As it is with hostels and staying in a shared dorm, it is unavoidable for other guests coming into the room at different times and putting the lights on. However, we do have a strict noise policy after hours, and also have a 24 hour reception so you can speak to a member of staff... More

It's definitely a good hostel to meet people at. My room mates weren't exactly the greatest and kind of stuck to their own group which was a bit awkward but with the bar downstairs it's easy to get chatting to others! Staff were really friendly (especially the American girl from Washington, if I remember rightly); gave helpful info on how... More

Thank you for taking time to give us feedback. We try our best to create a friendly atmosphere in our bar area, so that guests can mingle and make friends. We encourage guests to explore Brisbane during the days and to be out of their rooms, so therefore have the aircon on throughout the night. Our reception is staffed 24... More

Dear Jean, Thank you for your feedback. Here at Brisbane Backpackers, we like to do our bit for the environment and only turn our air cons on in the hot summer months. We do provide fans for the daytime but also like to encourage guests to explore Brisbane during the day, so you are not cooped up in your room. More

Stayed one night to see the footy, a room of 6 and we were all charged an extra $15 each because it was game day, Even though the people who where in the next room also staying one night got the normal rate. It was dirty the air con is only allowed on between Jan-Feb just a horrible experience.

Thank you for your feedback. It comes as an unwelcomed surprise that the room was not up to your cleanliness standard. I have a dedicated team of cleaners that are here 7 days a week and we pride ourselves in making sure all the rooms are above standard. Our air con is seasonal and is on from December through until... More
