After the wearysome trip from Europe to Brisbane, I arrived early in the morning. Cafes, restaurants and shops are just a 5 min walk down the road, so I got myself some coffee and was immediately drawn into the quarter. Pretty Queensland houses, a hill with a church and, a little further, the river. Ellies´s Guesthouse is located in New... More

A lovely place to stay. Not a hotel experience, which was great, as the facilities allowed us to come and go as we pleased, cook our own meals or bring back a take - away. Laundry facilities on site were a great boon. Places on the veranda or in the pretty garden to sit and read, soak up the sun... More

Stayed in this guesthouse while travelling the east coast. The rooms are nice and the building was quiet. Good value for money I felt. There was a bus about 2 minute walk which takes you to the main train station. Can't really say anything bad about it.

Tucked away in suburbia away from the partying crowds, but moments away from shops & cafe's, this was a great find. I stayed for 5 nights and could happily have stayed longer. The rooms are clean and equipped with a microwave, kettle and fridge. Nala and Jacquie could not have been more helpful with their local knowledge and help in... More

I stayed for a few nights while i was re-locating. It was uncomfortable and dirty. Not to mention the half way house for ex prisoners across the road with frequent police visits in the middle of the night. There was a mop and bucket outside my door with dirty water in it. This is so you could mop the shower... More

We stayed at Ellie's Guesthouse for a night. Not good for the money charged. A tiny room, no aircon, only a fan, very uncomfortable on a hot night. No soap.We decided to leave the next morning and found a 10-times better accommodation at Spring Hill, with a balcony view and soap and it was 4 dollars cheaper! The lady would not... More

I stayed at Ellie's Guesthouse for three days in a private room with shared bath room. I was visiting Brisbane to attend conference and was looking for quiet place to live at reasonable price. The outstanding feature of Ellie's Guesthouse is hospitality extended by the owners. They are ready to extend help and brief you about all possible activities in... More

Me and my girlfriend stayed here on two separate occasions on our backpacking tour of Australia. The room we had was on the top level right off of the kitchen, the room itself was by far the nicest of any place we had stayed in during our backpacking experience. The room was very spacious with a comfortable bed with a... More
