After staying in a lot of YHA's in New Zealand and being very impressed, I was not prepared for how bad they would be in Australia. I arrived about two hours before check-in. I thought I could leave my bag there while I look around, like you can do in any other hostel. You have to pay for that service... More

This YHA is a modern and bright hostel that is massive in scale. I stayed in a 6 bed dorm which overlooked a railway line resulting in a disturbed sleep (due to regular trains and freight/engineering trains during the evening.) The rooms had a steel dotted grid over the window and the room was whitewashed with no colour making it... More

It was an average backpacker, which normally I would rate higher, but I guess I expected more since the price for my double room was higher Than some others in the area. For how expensive it was, the bed was uncomfortable, my room looked right into a graffiti'd wall (which at least made it prettier), and it felt like a... More

We stayed here the last 2 nights of our 6 weeks traveling Australia and we had a bit of cash left over so we took a private room with 2 single beds at $102 a night. The room was basic but clean. After spending months sharing with people it was really nice to have a room to yourself! The hostel... More

The hostel itself is pretty average. The staff is friendly but the rooms look pretty cramped. During my stay there were 2 different youth groups there (different nights, always under 18) that were quite rowdy and running around in the hall screaming and giggling and playing pranks on each other. I've had quieter times in "party" hostels. Otherwise a nice... More

Stayed two nights, really clean tidy, everywherewas protected by a key card. Felt scure, great kitchen excellent building, great rooms but the most amazing thing was the free food shelf, more like a free supermarket, I can't understand backpackers leaving so much food behind.

The experience we had at this hostel was great. Due to unforseen circumstances we had to stay here for a considerable amount of time which meant regularly swapping rooms. The staff on reception were fantastic and fitted us into rooms without a problem. The facilities are second to none. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped, with ample room for many... More

As most back packing hotels you don't have a choice on the roommates you get unless you book a twin room for yourself. The hotel is close to the city center about 15 minutes walking distance and only a few minutes from the main train station. The hostel is a nice place, but can get noisy when the open air... More

I really liked this hostel. I had flown in from Cairns and thought it much better than the same hostel there. Spacious rooms with good size lockers. Pleasant communal areas and brilliant views over the city from the pool area. Helpful staff who kindly allowed me to use the computers free of charge. The only slight complaint is that the... More

Big clean modern hostel a 15 minute walk from the happening places of Brisbane. Room faced the railway so could be a little loud but this was fine during the night. Kitchen facilities were good and there was a great seating area outside with brilliant views of the city.
