I'm writing this on request of my mum (65yrs old) who I booked into this place for 3 nights around the 20th of April... After we read all the other reviews, she steadied herself for the idea that it could be bad and was even mentally prepping to go to the supermarket and get her own cleaning supplies BUT!!!! She... Suited our needs. Proximity to Brisbane Convention Centre was perfect. Best of all the Café Briz and their friendly & welcoming staff . . . It may have been 'budget price' but you couldn't get anything that good, and that close to all our needs. Pete and Di Lane, Mackay, Qld

Stuck here for business. Staff fair at best. The whole place stinks like vomit, beer, and bleech. This place needs an upgrade as everything is very worn and old. The price is ok but I would probably choose a Hostel over this place.

For what you get at this price - good location, 3* room, some nice staff, quiet, close to southbank - it is good. If you compare it to the $200 options nearby, you'll be disappointed. The room and resort was a bit tired, but sufficient for a place to crash.

I have stayed at the Sapphire Resort in Brisbane many times. It is always clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. It has rooms to suit many situations. I have stayed as a couple, with friends and even a room with enough beds to cater for two sisters and three kids. They are not fancy rooms but comfortable. This... More

If you are looking for inexpensive accommodation then this place is worth checking out. There are no lifts which keeps the prices reasonable. The staff are very pleasant and helpful; it is ideally located for a short walk to the WestEnd...check out the markets on Friday night..food is fantastic - and an easy walk to Southbank. The cafe Briz has... More

Filthy, dirty, grimy, vial. The walls in the room were absolutely putrid. The chipboard vanity was falling apart. The TV was so small we could hardly see it. The stairwells were disgusting. The signage was wrong. The restaurant was closed. The pool was unkempt. It was very uncared for, may as well have been in downtown China.

The hotel did not look anything like in the pictures. The place is out dated and seriously needs renovating. The internet is extra. I had the most uncomfortable night in my life. Very dark lights, small balconies with no views, long walks and no elevator to higher level. There is not much good things to say. The cafe next door... More

This place may have been fantastic back in the 1980's, but now needs a lot of repairs - the staff told us the restaurant was closed for renovations - but there was nothing going on. The pool was "closed until further notice". Our room smelt like a thousand mice had pooped in it, the aircon didn't work properly, the bathroom... More

I was aware of the negative press out there for this place before I stayed there; some of it is true, but the location and security negates those negatives. Yes, some rooms have that dank smell but the AC removes them. Yes, the drain in the bathroom smells. But for $100 or less all is forgotten. The only really questionable... More
