Booked this hotel after getting some recommendations from experts in Tripadvisor Brisbane Forum. Stayed for 2 nights. Love the place for its location - within walking distance to numerous restaurants and pubs, Southbank parkland, the train and bus stations and city (maybe 20 - 30 min). Though the hotel is a bit older but it's clean and well maintained. Room... more

Only stayed one night, was hard to find, but in a neat neighborhood very close to the convention center. Older hotel, seemed clean enough, signs everywhere about security and other things. The West End of Brisbane has many neat trendy places to shop and eat. I got a good rate and would stay again... I would say though, it's time... more

Booked this hotel on the internet. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The attached Adams Chinese Restaurant provided very good food as did the small cafe on the premises. There was secure parking for my hire car at no cost which appeared to me to be fairly unusual in Australian Cities. There were numerous quality restaurants and pubs within... more

We stayed in the Sapphire Resort as guests of a convention. It was quite convenient to the Convention Centre and a good many South Bank restaurants, only a short walk through a mostly safe area. While rather basic, it did offer the necessities (bed, shower, kettle, fridge, air-conditioner, etc.), all of which worked, and it was clean enough. Arriving at... more

We booked this accommodation through Wotif.com based mainly on price and location. We wanted something reasonably priced but not too far out of Brisbane CBD. We preferred something within walking distance if possible. We found it easy to find and very handy to numerous shops/cafes (Coles Supermarket approx. 200 metres down the road). We visited the Adams Chinese Restaurant for... more

The Sapphire is a lovely hotel in South Brisbane walking distance from South Brisbane railway station and the Cultural Centre Busway. It's a fairly large hotel with 3 stories and has a swimming pool, unheated. It's very good value for money and the rooms are fairly large with a balcony. more

We have just returned from a weekend stay at the Sapphire Resort in Brisbane. It is clean, fresh, comfortable motel style accommodation (ie. ensuite bathroom, own tv and mini fridge) and is excellent value for money for its terrific location. Its 15 mins walk to Brisbane CBD, 10 to the South Bank Cultural Centre with its museums, markets and theatres... more

My husband and I stayed overnight at the Sapphire Resort recently. We planned the majority of our time away at Surfers Paradise, but wanted to spend the day catching up with some friends in Brisbane. We didn't want to spend too much money, so I booked the Sapphire Resort on one of the last minute sites. For under $100 we... more

When you look at the website for the Sapphire resort, you are shown a beautiful, dim lit terraced hotel, looking delightful. When i arrived, i couldn't believe how wrong that website is! To start off with, the outside of the hotel has a thick black layer of mold all down the walls and balconies. 5 of us travelling, booked two... more

We stayed 4 nights in Sapphire in June 2007. The hotel is clean and rooms spacious. It was somewhat cold as June was so chilly in Australia. The a/c - heating equipment was not very good; up on the wall and made some noise. It was still perferrable over being very cold at night. The toilet was also very cold... more
