Our second visit to this accomodation and the reason we return is primarily for location. Situated in West End at the city end and within walking distance of everything. Our second reason for returning is budget. Although Sapphire could do with a spruce up and clean the rooms are adequate and provide all amenities. There is a cafe in house... More

Ideally situated for any South Bank activity, and an easy walk into the city. We arrived just before the supercell storm hit, lots of rain & hail. The room next door to us was absolutely flooded with water pouring out of the door! Bit of a worry being right next door, but the staff were so helpful. The hotel was... More

We stayed here during our trip to Brisbane and found the place to be satisfactory. The room was your basic bed and bathroom with nothing special but for $90 in this location I cannot complain. You can walk to South Bank and the CBD easily and other than some noisy women in the complex it was pretty quiet with no... More

it was very well located in South Brisbane for where we were going. Clean and tidy. Had problems with lighting Tony came up straight away and fixed the problem. The shower was great and the beds were comfortable. I would not hesitate to stay there again for the price and complimentary car park. Friends stayed at another hotel and had... More

After reading some of these previous comments we were a little apprehensive about our impending stay for a night. I am not sure what people expect to get for 90 bucks, but we thought the place was quite acceptable. Yes, the place is showing it's age in certain areas but we had a clean bed, clean towels, great West End... More

For $90 per night Sapphire Resort represented good value for money given its close proximity to CBD Brisbane. The room was smallish but it was clean and had all the basics (except for a toaster - in fact a notice says not to use any cooking appliance as it will activate the fire alarm). It had its own tiny deck... More

- room smelt like a mixture of old vomit and urine - beds were like sleeping on a table and made us very itchy - sheets and blankets were tattered and old - air con barely worked and I ened up turning it off as it looked like it has been running for 25yrs without cleaning the filters - I'm... The staff are very friendly, the hotel is good value, but don't expect a slick hotel experience. After all you are not paying for it. I spent a week there as a base for a conference. It's a little bit tatty, but if you are not to fussy the bed was fine, the rooms clean, and the TV worked. Lack... More

This is definitely a case of getting what you pay for. The staff were nice enough but stuffed up my booking twice. The room was less than average and half the power points didn't work. The rooms weren't cleaned at all during our stay. BUT - the only thing that made our stay there worth it was Cafe Briz and... More

And that's the only plus. For what we paid, we expected a bit better. It is very budget, no tissues in the room, sad old mattress and air con, and terrible bathroom. Staff are a bit rude, and you didn't feel very welcomed. It's a short 5 min walk to boundary st, with plenty of great bars and restaurants and... More
