I don't see why people have been moaning about this hotel in previous reviews. For what the hotel is I couldn't fault anything! So yeah it's not the lap of luxury, it isn't a world famous hotel it's just a good, clean, hotel in a city with good views, friendly staff, great location and great everything else! Firstly the location.... more

My husband, 2 children (7 and 11 years) and myself stayed at this hotel on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th April 2008. We chose this hotel because of its proximity to Southbank, where we had to attend an event early on Sunday morning. The hotel was very handy to both Southbank (about 10-15 minute walk) and the Queen Street mall... more

This is a terrible hote! The room is tired looking. Stains on the carpet, walls and bathroom. The room stank of cheap room freshener. I checked in at midnight and was hungry for room service. The menu was small and didnt look entising. I skipped room service. The hotel looked old in every corner. I can also tell from the... more

Please do not stay here! - Hotel is on a one way system, hard to get in and out. - Overlooking the motorway - Rooms tired and very old looking - Paint clipped on doors, windows, hallway - Bed very soft. So soft it gave us backaches the following morning - Rooms smell of stale smoke - View from my... more

The Mercure Hotel lies on the Brisbane River. It is only 200 metres to the CBD and casino. It is a walk over the bridge to Southbank Entertainment area and the preforming arts centre and theatre. The hotel itself is quite old and is not much to look at from the outside. The bar and restaurant were closed for renovations... more

Stayed at the Mecure and whilst it has some of the mod cons and is close the the CBD it was dated and the maintainence was hopeless. We had an issue that wasn't resolved until the day before we checked out. We were there for four nights. For the price I expected better than that. We called out 6 times... more

Pleasant staff in a very average hotel with somewhat tired rooms. Adequate but not a lot to write home about. Fairly central location but the river view rooms come with a view of the flyover/motorway so not really the thing that romantic dreams are made of. Functional and clean and you could not fault the staff but in our opinion... more

I thought this hotel was in a great location, just a short walk from Roma Street station in one direction and shopping and dining areas in the other. It is on a busy road but I wasn't disturbed by traffic noise during my stay. The rooms are bright and a decent size. They look like they have been recently refurbished.... more

This is not in any way an unusual or outstanding hotel, but it's fully satisfactory. The location is very good, a short walk from Queen St mall and the Roma St transit centre. We had a river view room, which did offer a nice view of the river and Southbank, although the multi-lane highway right outside the hotel spoiled the... more

Had an exceptionally good weekend recently at the Mercure Brisbane due in no small measure to the professionalism and attentiveness of the staff that I encountered. The hotel has been refurbished and while the room was smallish, it was bright, cheerful and clean with great beds. The view from the Riverview room was superb and made the room feel larger.... more
