We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and were thoroughly impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms. Not to mention the hot showers and phenomenal a/c in the room. The view out of the window wasn't the greatest but the room was quiet, and for how close the hotel was to everything we needed we couldnt complain. 5 minute... more

Stayed for 3 nights. Slightly musty and dark, but that adds to the atmosphere of this historic hotel. Each room is named after someone, and the rooms were supposedly used previously as medical suites. I supposed this was the novelty of this boutique hotel. The rooms were not exactly suites, but they were fairly spacious, and could easily accomodate a... more

I stayed here the 28th May for business in room 405...things went from bad to worse - - initial greeting sour after 5 minute wait at unmanned reception - no soap in the bathroom to even wash hands - no light bulb in bed side lamp - requested wake-up call...never happened (meant I overslept!) - breakfast - 20 min wait... more

The Inchcolm is quirky and has character without even a hint of chintz. The suite (401 Kidman) was on the small side but it was contemporary within a heritage setting and much more pleasant than the corporate hotels, where you could be anywhere in the world, they all feel so similar. I wondered whether we might have been given a... more

My wife and I stayed at the Inchcolm for three nights in September 2008. The hotel has in individual feel about it and we found the staff very friendly and helpful. We had a room at the rear of the hotel overlooking the entrance to another hotel but traffic noise was not a problem. Our rate included continental breakfast which... more

Oh how disappointed we were! We filled out a comment card with my e-mail address but we're not totally sure it ever got to management. Anyway, check-in was fine, the receptionist was very polite and helpful. However, when we got into our room it reeked of cheap scented room-spray and although we opened the windows for a couple of hours... more

Thank you very much for your feedback we love all feedback both positive and negative. Firstly I would like to apoligise for your disappointment in our services, unfortunatly you were allocated one of our smaller rooms, as all of our rooms are unique no two rooms are the same. We have since addressed the cleanliness problem and have hired a...

Promoted as a boutique hotel but the rooms are nothing more than the standard room found in most hotels in this price range. Breakfast was very dissapointing. Not a lot of choice and what was availabe looked rather sad (Continental). more

The Inchcolm is good value for the price. This was our main assessment. It does have some character, for example the old iron lift, but still has the feeling of a fairly average - but nevertheless comfortable - hotel. With a big cash injection, it could become something really special. They offer valet parking (extra cost) which is useful to... more

I just spent two nights at The Inchcolm staying in a one bedroom apartment and also a studio. The location is great if you want to be close to the Valley or CBD, each room is individualised and named after a historical figure in Australian history, and the room facilities are perfectly adequate for a short stay. There is nothing... more
