I really enjoyed my stay at Woodduck last month. It is located near the Transit Centre and only 15 min from the City Centre or South Bank. The hostel has a great atmosphere because it's not that big. The rooms are very nice and big enough. I liked the wooden floor the most. As cleaned twice a day I also... More

Nice enough hostel but the manager is possibly the worse person i have come across in my life, which is a shame because everything else is good. My friend had accidentally smoked in the wrong area (outdoors) whilst drunk and instead of deducting or taking his deposit (like most reasonable hostels would do), the manager waltzed into our room the... Stay here for 3 nights in November. Was put into a 12 bed room, which was split into 2 rooms. One with 4 beds, the other with 8. They were very cramped. One plug with an extension cord with 5 plugs was not enough for 12 people. There is just one big kitchen/"living space" which felt like being in a... More

The beauty of Woodduck is it's size, with no more than 70 people there at a time it's a great place to meet new people and get to know them properly. I stayed in Woodduck for 5 months whilst working to save money and continue travelling and I always felt safe and comfortable there. Chris always makes sure everyone is... More

The worst hostel we had in Australia. A fake double room in the middle of a dormitory so you have to enter the dormitory to enter your double room The room had a window on the street, very noisy because of the traffic. The kitchen was not clean and the common area was old and in a bad state (sofas... More

Originally we were only suppose to be saying for 2 nights but as soon as we checked in we knew we wanted to extend our stay!. Great staff friendly and helpful. Nice living area great to sit around and get to know everyone. Get the feel that most people have been staying here a while and I can see why.... More

I stayed in this hostel for a very long time. If your looking for a tight knit hostel to meet long term friends this is the place to go. The hostel is not a party hostel so you aren't forced to do anything. There are events available almost every night so you did have the choice. Family feel, very homely!!... More

I had the cheapest room available Room 12. The room was the tidiest one i have ever been to in my 2 year travels, the beds seem to be new and was very comfortable, what surprised me is the amount of room available in the room at the Woodduck backpackers, the room i was in they could quite easily put...
