The Base at Brisbane is the worst accommodation experience I've had. I stayed on the fourth floor, in a single room. The room is like a jail cell, a terrible single bed, a fan and a window that I am not sure is entirely safe. The pillow was the worst, like it had 3 cotton wool balls in it. I... More

Booked 3 nights at this hostel and after seeing the room I wish I could have cancelled. Check-in was smooth, that's the best I have to say. They charge you for wifi, who does that anymore? 4$ for "standard wifi", in other words, taking your money, or 7$/24 hours for high speed. The room was extremely simple, just a bed... More

The only good thing about the place was that at least the bed sheets were clean! The place is very run down, and as soon as you enter the stench is the first thing that hits you! The carpets have obviously not been cleaned for a century or so! The Sanctuary, where me and my friend was staying, was on... More

As soon as you walk in the building you will be hit by a massive wack of how disgusting it smells... and this continues throughout the corridors and in the room. The staff are VERY hit and miss. The facility's are poor, only 1 computer working out of 3. 1 toilet working and 2 out of 4 showers in the... More

The rooms are something you'd only really sleep in after a big big night. Probably a good party hostel as there is a pub right next door but beds are small, rooms and bathrooms need a bloody good clean. And usually stuff like that doesn't worry me too much. Not a nice place to stay but staff were friendly. Good... More

Excellent location, shops all around and train station is literally across the road. Great staff, nice clean rooms and bathrooms. I liked the old fashion life and the roof top terrace! The nights they put on are really good I was there for movie and free popcorn!

This place is very cheap and you get what you pay for. I don't know why their website shows clean towels and soap in the rooms because that's simply not the case. I stayed in a private room and it reminded me a lot of a prison cell with its sagged mattress and window that wouldn't open. The bathrooms are... More

This hostel is ideally located for people wanting to see the city of Brisbane and what it has to offer. As it mainly focuses on dorm rooms I believe lack of attention has been paid to the double rooms. The rooms were very clean and modern however paying 80 dollars a night you would at least expect a sink in... More

I arrived at Base and had to wait for a while before anyone at reception spoke to me. I arrived before check in so was given the key to put my bag in the storage room. When I checked in I was told my room was on level 1 and I was pointed to the elevator, however the elevator is... More

We stayed at this hostel as an introduction into our Australian working holiday. The hostel is a typical backpackers stay, although it is very loud and there are loads of people. Our dorm had 6 bunks which is good for meeting people although our room smelt of weed. The staff were really friendly and helpful and you are able to... More
