I feel cheated by the lonely planet with this hostel...it was highly rated in there review, I did not share their views! Before arriving at the hostel, I phoned to se if they do a pickup service, I was told no but it is only a 5 minute walk...I then asked if I could please have directions, only to be... More

This is our favourite hostel so far. We booked a double room which was out the back in the separate part of the hostel away from the main part of the hostel. Our little 'house' was next to the pool. We were essentially in our own house sharing with 3 other rooms. We had our own kitchen and bathroom shared... More

Stayed five nights in a private twin. It was clean and well-maintained, with a fridge in the room, though ventilation was not good. The common room area & kitchen were congenial & decently equipped in the private room bldg, but the main dorms' ones are not welcoming or well laid out.. Staff are intelligent and capable enough, though typical of... More

Hello VitalianBrother, it's been very interesting to read your review, so thank you for having taken the time to do so. You've made some good points: the kitchen of the private rooms is objectively seen better than the dorm-ones, but it also follows the prices. Regardless, the dorms-kitchen is fully equipped as well and we try to keep it clean.... More

Don't really want to give you all our secrets ,but we have stayed here before to go to Suncorp for State of Origin 2. Had a great time on a pub crawl down Caxton Street and then to the game . All an easy walk to and from .Going again for the Four Nations Game this weekend. The Aussie way... More

We stayed at Aussie way for 3 nights in October. Pros: Good location - Caxton street is nice - only a 15-20 min walk to southbank Pool area is nice Rooms are relatively clean Staff were friendly Cons: Kitchen is tiny Communal area not very well laid out Bathrooms were unclean and tired You have to pay for wifi Overall... Hi R12000, thank you for leaving a review. We are a very small hostel and we do try our best to be accommodating. There is unfortunately little we can do about the size of the kitchen -- which usually works out well though, or the set-up of the communal area. The latter not without compromising a lot of seating space... More

We had a car and they allowed us to park on their drive. They is on street parking but with restrictions on the street. You can walk to the train station but if arriving this way it is an up hill walk. Nice seating area at the back where people socialise. Rooms were not that spacious but were adequate for... More

Hello GUESStheGUEST, thank you for the review. Yes, there are parking restrictions in just about all of the city-center and surroundings. This and the fact that Brisbane is not located on flat land, are things that we can't do anything about. Luckily the walk is only five minutes and we provide passes that allow for unlimited parking. As for the... More

This hostel is great. Super friendly and small. Nice and quite, definitely not a party hostel. Facilities we're clean and modern, made me feel at home. Only negative was the internet not being free and when you did pay for it the connection wasn't great and didn't reach everywhere in the hostel. We stayed when they were quiet and had... More

Spent 4 nights here in August 2014. Stayed in a double room with shared bathroom. We found the staff very welcoming and helpful, answering all our questions and sorting us with a parking permit for the car and early check-out. The neighborhood is very quiet and yet just 5 minutes from the bustling Caxton St district, and just a bit... More

Thank you for your feedback, R S, we're glad that you enjoyed your time here. We are indeed not the Hilton, but we also don't advertise as such as we are a quiet small hostel and pride ourselves on the friendly, laid-back atmosphere instead. More

My stay at Aussie Way was one of contradictions and a bit of a mixed bag. On the one hand, the girl on reception was friendly and helpful. On the other, the signs around the hostel were full of warnings 'not to do' certain things. Which I can understand to a certain extent in what is backpacker accommodation, but having... More

Hello AJMartin001, and thank you for having taken the time for the thorough review. We're sorry to hear that your stay has not been as pleasant as it could have been, so perhaps some explanations are in place here. We are quite aware that there are many signs across the hostel. Most of them are duplicates of the same message... More
