Nice clean hotel with friendly people and staff there. Always managed to have a good night's sleep there as it's usually quiet on a night time. Only down fall is you can't drink alcohol on the premises. But other than that I would defo return for another stay.

Really nice and quiet hostel. Friendly staff. Not a party hostel so works well for people that are working. Hostel is small so it's easy to make new friends. Dorms are good size, only for 4 people. There is free wifi. I enjoyed my time in this hostel!

Before entering, I already recognised the different style of the building. It seems like walking in a house of a big family and it kinda is. The staff was still there for my late checking (8:30pm). I was lucky because kitchen closes at 9pm and reopens around 7:30am. This one minus point for me since I am an early bird.... More

This hostel is perfect for people wanting to get there bearings in Brisbane in a quiet hostel with everything in walking distance. There are bars round the corner on Claxton Street (try Brewski for some real ales & ciders) which come alive at night, a local shopping centre and cinema. It has its own pool and t.v room with free... More

The hostel is a beautiful building and it has a great location and has a nice pool. just a 5 minutes walk from the station and a 10 minuet walk from the city. The rooms where spacious and we met some nice guests. Also nearby is Caxton Street, a nice little row of shops and bars with a good atmosphere.... More

Thank you for your review, you raise a lot of issues. We actually held a large spring-clean before we noticed your review and all the difficult-to-get-to places are clean now. I'm not sure what you mean by "unfriendly" signs. There are a few to raise awareness of certain issues. Yes: we are a quiet hostel and we advertise as such.... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here in September 2015 for 2 nights. It was the first hostel of our trip and we chose this one because I had stayed here back in 2005 and liked it. All I can say is that this place has gone downhill. The staff were stand-offish when we arrived. We were in a 4 bed... More

Thank you for your review. You apparently slept in the family room which does house 5 people, but we very rarely place 5 dorms in that room. So it sounds like you came at an exceptionally busy time in which we had little choice but to add one person to your room. We're sorry about that. That would also explain... More

Just your average hostel. Located close to train and greyhound bus terminal. They have a strict no noise after 10 pm policy and that even includes talking at an average level so do not stay here if you plan on partying or stay up late. It is great if you are looking for a quiet night. The office is in... More

Thank you for your review. You are very right in stating that we are a quiet hostel and that's precisely what we advertise as. We are situated in a residential area and thus have to be quiet by law. The upstairs have bathrooms as well, so there usually isn't that much waiting time at any given time. More

I found this place pretty easily from Roma Street station. It looks nice from the outside, the area is quiet, it's pretty close to bars and restaurants and a big supermarket, and reception staff were friendly. I didn't get to use the pool (I was out most days and eating in the nights before going straight to sleep), but on... More

Thank you for your kind words! We are sorry that you were unfortunate with your roommates. This is unfortunately little to be helped (we cannot select our guests that way), although staff do talk to people when a room is too messy. We have three male showers, so perhaps you did not check the upstairs bathrooms out? We're also sorry... More

We had a double bed room opting for the alternative backpacker approach. As hostels go, it was actually quite a nice place. Staff are reasonably friendly and the room and amenities are clean and more than adequate. Being English I more than enjoyed watching all the 3pm Premier League football games (quietly) at midnight Brisbane time. In terms of negative... More

Thank you for your review. Upon examination, we could nowhere find a statement of ours that all rooms have fridges in them. Nevertheless, we updated them to specifically mention that most of them do, and that those that don't, have large communal fridges available. We updated the information on air conditioning as well. We do have it available, but only... More

The beds here are really comfortable which is the most important thing, and generally it is very quiet so you can get good sleep. Most of the guests staying were very friendly and all the staff were pleasant, however there are a few issues with this place. The size of the kitchen is a joke, and when the hostel has... More

Thank you for your review, Solcut. We're very glad that you did had an overall good stay and slept well. Just to address some issues: we are very aware that the kitchen is rather small. Unfortunately there isn't anything we can do about it as this is a heritage listed building and we are not allowed to make drastic changes.... More
