Very clean and comfortable room with fridge, washbasin and fan. Good size modern shower room. Courtyards front and back. Handy location 15 mins walk to Central or Roma St. Lovely welcoming hosts including giant Alsation. Reasonably priced as well, so most definitely ticks all the boxes!

Stayed here for one night - was everything we needed and more. Excellent location, there was parking, aircon and free wifi. Was a bit dubious about the shared facilities but it was very quiet and the bathrooms were clean and not too busy. Room was basic but came with a fridge so we were happy, staff were lovely and helpful.... More

I arrived late after office closing time, and the boss had left a , lovely envelope on the front door inside the gates with directions to my room, roomkey and wifi password. Staff is supernice, lots of lovely backpackers and pretty clean room. Only negative was they were painting at the time, so it smelled of paint, also no aircon... More

We stayed at the Kookaburra Inn for 5 days in December 2013 and would definitely recommended it. It’s in a great location as its only about 10-15 minutes’ walk to the main train station in Brisbane and from there you can easily walk to anywhere. Were welcomed by the lovely owner and her two happy dogs. She took the time... More

Our planned arrival was delayed due to encountering an auto accident on the highway and by becoming lost in the Spring Hill area of Brisbane, where the Kookaburra Inn was located. Despite our considerable delay, our hosts were very welcoming and helpful. We found the rooms charming, the baths and kitchen more than adequate and the atmosphere very nice. We... More

In between flights, we stayed for one night at the hostel. It is basic, by its very nature, but clean and comfortable. The owner is very helpful. Facilities are on a help-yourself basis, but, as a very economic central stopover, it was fine. It's worth taking a walk down to Chinatown for a taste of some fine food.

Had a great time, except for the cricket at this hostel. Christine & her staff make you feel at home, there is a good atmosphere at this place. There was a good mixture of English & Australians, mainly single guys & we all made friends. Plenty of beers were offered round, I even got one from the manager on arrival.This... More

Was only here for a quick night but the rooms/bathroom are clean, and the atmosphere is cozy. The owner is a wonderfully warm and friendly woman. There's free tea/coffe in the guest kitchen and cosy corners to hang out both indoors and out. Good location too, walking distance from the river and train station.

I live and work in the Solomon Islands and travelling out of the country invariably means transiting through Brisbane. And for overnight stay there are several budget hotels in Brisbane near the airport as well as CBD. I chose Kookaburra Inn suggested by a friend and took the shuttle bus from airport. The hotel is located in Spring Hill, just... More
