I stayed in both a standard motel room and a duplex room. The standard motel is has more space and the walls are thicker than in a duplex room. So I didn't here much noise from the other rooms. I slept best in this room. In the duplex room the walls are thin, so you here most of what is... More

We loved this hotel. The room and the bathroom were spotlessly clean, you had a table and chairs on the balcony outside and access to the pool. The full breakfast was also very good. The hotel is well placed for the town centre, and the Darwin waterfront where there are nice restaurants and a swimming and wave pool. Another thing... More

Having stayed here twice now I feel I need to write, as there are some negative reviews on this site, which I feel are unwarranted. This is a great place to stay and for me the location is the drawcard, close to shops, information centre, buses, esplanade, eateries in Mitchel St, etc.…. I stayed in a Garden Bungalow for 5... Have just returned from Darwin where I had 4 nights at this resort. Stayed in a Tropical Villa, where the bed was very comfy but the bathroom very small but adequate. Everything was very clean though and the staff were nice & helpful. The Restaurant only served breakfast but this was a full buffet breakfast and the food was great.... More

The Garden Bungalows provide a Basic compact room, with a narrow bathroom. The shower is a good size and there is plenty of hot water. Towels are OK, pillows are thin. Air conditioner works well. The floors are polished boards and the decor is "dated tropical". The breakfast is a plentiful help yourself buffet. It is better value to include... More

We stayed one night here before going on a 3 day Kakadu safari. They allowed us to store our extra luggage for 3 days before returning and staying an extra 2 nights. The staff were friendly and helpful. Free Wi-fi though I found it difficult to log on, staff helped out. The superior room on the second floor was basic... More

I stayed here recently after being on an overnight flight from overseas. The staff were very professional, helpful and friendly. Arriving extremely tired they were welcoming and I was able to rest by the pool until check-in. The room was very comfortable, modern and clean. The hotel also had washing machines which I did not need but would be useful... More

Basic room w/fan & A/c. Staff were friendly & courteous. Pool area was a great place to meet people, or have a peaceful relax. The only small criticism is that there was no Microwave or cutlery apart from a teaspoon and no bench space. We didn't want to pay top dollar for the 6 nights we were there, so, overall... More

As mentioned by other travellers, hotels are expensive in Darwin, so I think this resort is priced accordingly. We paid $250 per night for a Garden Bungalow for one night before we went on tour and were upgraded to a Tropical Villa when we returned. The Garden Bungalow was extremely small, thank goodness it has a verandah. The Tropical Villa... More

Darwin is an exciting place to visit but many of the hotels are either too expensive or have too much concrete to be relaxing. The Palms City resort sits at the quiet end of the Esplanade, is surrounded by palms and gardens and is well run. We stayed in a garden bungalow which was small but adequate for two people.... More
