9am arrival so asked when may be the earliest time for checkin. The response of possibly 1pm was reasonable and after confirming my reservation came 'we are a licensed venue so no alcohol can be bought in from outside'. They were the only words of welcome. No offer of where to place my bags, no advice as to where I... More

Avoid this place if you travel with your family or your partner: noisy young backpackers (there is bar playing music at the top of the hostel), uncomfortable rooms with nothing more than cheap beds (our was broken) and dirty shared rooms are what you should expect.

I stayed here whilst looking for farm work, ended up doing it elsewhere. because of my purpose the place was not ideal, the hostel, is a party hostel, so if thats what you're here for then greatt. The pool area is cool, but the water like darwin is very humid and unsatifying to get into, id much prefer the waterfront.... More

This is a very central hostel, hard to miss. More of a party hostel, can really only meet people in your dorm, as everyone heads out to the balacony to party. The kitchen is small and all the hobs either don't work, or have little power left in them, cooking is nightmare. on to the good side, the staff are... More

One of the best placed backpackers anywhere in Darwin. Beautiful outside drinking/eating area with a pool. Don't expect to be staying at a quiet place! Mitchell street isn't well know for quiet anyway. Toilets and bathroom weren't the cleanest I've seen. Stayed in a 4 bed dorm, bed was comfortable and the room had a great aircon. Overall cheap rates... More

We had a private room with en suite situated on the ground floor right at the back of the hostel. It was clean and comfortable, although the air conditioning unit was very noisy, which affected our sleep somewhat. We are in our early 60's but chose to stay at this hostel as it was practically next door to the final... More

we stayed in a private room with bathroom. really clean and nice, good service and very helpful staff. upstairs is a small pool and bar, where it's always lively. we were lucky with the room as it was far away on the ground floor and did not bother us by the bar and nightlife.

Arrived at the hostel one am after a day of flights and travel, totally exhausted, the ensuited room basic, slightly dirty. nothing a good wipe of the walls wouldn't fix. Awoken at 5 to guests coming and going, banging doors, talking etc Noise didn't stop. So checking out and going to the cav, they have quiet motel rooms for a little... More

Done a lot of backpacking and travelling, and as a Darwin local have always wondered what it would be like to stay here. A short trip back was a good opportunity to try! The good: The pool bar - cheap, busy, atmospheric, great place for a late afternoon drink. Location - right in the middle of Mitchell St. The bad:... More

The staff often over book the rooms meaning people have to move around alot. The beds have plastic covers on the so every time you move it rustles, the bunkbeds are almost broken so when the top person climbs on it squeaks and sways about and are unbelievably loud. The aircon is loud and leaks on floor and the fan... More
