I was a bit apprehensive about staying 5 nights at a Hotel attached to a casino, and had read some uncomplementary reviews of Sky City. Our room was a standard double, facing the ocean front, recently repainted, but with only glimpses of the ocean. The room was a good size, with a very small balcony. The bathroom was a bit... more

I enjoy staying at casino hotels and have stayed at most of the Australian hotels and my overall experience with Sky City Darwin in comparison to Crown Melbourne, Star City Sydney, Burswood Resort Perth and Conrad Treasury Brisbane the Sky City Darwin comes out top of the list. I purchased a superior spa room with 2 queen beds, the room... more

A fairly reasonable experience, certainly not equivalent to a 4 star hotel in say Hong Kong, but that's not what we expected. Place was clean and quiet and for us the location near Fannie Bay was excellent being close to Botanic Gardens, Museum and Mindil Beach. We luckily had a rental car to go to the city centre when needed.... more

We had an ocean-facing room which had a lovely view but very old fashioned TV. we had to get the balcony door specially unlocked- silly when you really want to enjoy the spectacular sunsets on your balcony. Hope fully the current upgrading will address some of these issues. The rooms facing the car Park were only slightly cheaper but were... more

With expectations of Skycity being "international" class, I thought my internet rate was quite reasonable. As it turned out, it was expensive - for a product that is, in so many respects, a 'glorified' motel. Had I walked in off the street, and paid their 'rack rate' I would have been one dissatisfied customer indeed! The casino is extremely tired,... more

I obtained a good rate, as it was the off-season. Bedroom and bathroom were of a high standard and the staff very pleasant and obliging. The high point was the pool in a beach location which is superb. However, the way the hotel merges with the casino I found very odd, particularly as that is where the restaurants and bars... more

We are locals and decided to get out the the house and do something different for Valentines Day with our 6 month old baby in tow. It was not a pleasant experience at all from start to finish. My overall impression was that it was nothing more than a glorified motel and does not fit into the catagory of a... more

My partner and I did not enjoy our stay here. We stayed for four nights. I had just been discharged from hospital and may partner was visiting while I recovered so we requested a quiet room - so we were put by the elevator. We also asked for a reasonable veiw - got a veiw of the side of the... more

Don't be put off that the hotel is not in the city area. Believe me you do not need to be staying there. Darwin has little to offer in the town so skycity is in the perfect location on the beautiful beach surrounded by gardens. We found staff excellent especially the asian girl working at front desk, sorry didn't get... more

As always most other Hotels in Darwin booked out so thought we would try the Skycity. Wasn't cheap (hotels aren't in Darwin) but we got an ocean view room which was very nice. Not quite a 5 star hotel but has a very good and friendly atmoshere. Great pool and we spent quite a few hours in it. There were... more
