Excellent hostel in the heart of Darwin. I stayed here for 8 nights whilst travelling. Like most hostels in the northern territory and west Australian it is more expensive per night compared to the east coast but don't let that put you off. Unlike a lot if the hostels on Mitchell Street, Dingo Moon was pleasantly quite, and situated away... More

We stayed here for one night when we got back from a trip around kakadu. We booked a double room which was clean and just what we needed after a lot of camping. There was aircon, a fan and a fridge in the room. The location is pretty good on the more quiet part of Mitchell street. Pool looked nice.... More

Rooms were of average size, though still large enough everyone's bags (plus there was room to empty them). Beds themselves were comfy enough. Staff were really lovely and helpful. Free breakfast was amazing- so much choice! And you could do laundry for free too. Also the hostel is very reasonably priced. Good location, a little further down Mitchell St than... More

Perfect location. On the Main Street of Darwin a few hundred yards from all the night life but far enough away not to hear it. Rooms are normal size with air conditioning a ceiling fan and a fridge. Very friendly hostel great free breakfasts and free laundry in the evening. Showers are basic. Owner very friendly aswell. I'd DEFINITALY stay... More

Rooms were cramped, toilets and showers were only just passable, the whole place is a bit in need of some care and attention. Reception weren't blindingly helpful but not unfriendly either. Breakfast is good if they remember to replenish it. No one respects the kitchen and staff do not enforce keeping this place clean so expect piles of washing up,... More

Stayed here 14 - 18 Jan 2014 having arrived on the Ghan Train from Adelaide. Had booked ahead and was allocated Room 7 a 4 bed room. No lockers but ample floor space. Toilets and showers were ok, gallons of hot water. Kitchen got very busy evenings and could do with being bigger with at least another cooking hob.Internet/wifi available... More

Stayed here for one night then we moved to another hostel which was actually cheaper and much nicer. Give them credit the room was clean and bathrooms clean but the place is very tired and cramped. The air conditioning unit above dripped on our head when we opened the door to our room. Fridge in room was good (private double)... More

Me and my girlfriend stayed in the private room for two nights after our ridiculous 45 hours (intotal) flight. Pros - Great AC! - Very quiet in the room, even during the day. Can't hear anything in the room - Continental Breakfast which is always a positive - Free laundry! - I dealt with three different workers there and all... More

The hostel itself is okay, it's nothing amazing but the rooms are fine if you're okay with dorms. There are a few problems like there is only only plug socket in the room for four people. You have to pay for the Internet and even then you can't pick it up in your room. The kitchen is always a mess.... More

We do not tolerate behaviour such as you have described at our hostel, however we cannot improve your stay if you vent on a website! Why did you not speak to Reception during your stay? Just this week we have had a family of 7 stay, couples coming and going from tours etc. We do not have long term guests... More
