We really enjoyed our six night stay at Sails in the Desert. Not only is Ayers Rock a magical, stunning place to be for an extended amount of time, but the staff and management made our time there so enjoyable and even luxurious. The manager, Meagan, really went above and beyond to make sure we set up just right and... More

Room was interesting. They gave us a mobility room, no idea why as we had booked a couple of months before, so not a last minute thing. The room was nice and spacious with a very spacious bathroom. The shower was one side of the room with a pull down seat. The bathmat was a large bathsheet but it was... More

Have just returned home after 5 nights at Sails. While the rooms are a little old, they are clean and comfortable particularly the King sized beds. Every staff member that we met, whether in the restaurants, throughout the Hotel or in their free time at the Town Centre went out of their way to chat and make you feel welcome.... More

Uluru is breathtaking (try the dawn walk around Uluru, or the fantastic "sounds of silence" dinner under the stars) and Sails of the Desert is the top hotel there. Parts of it are very good, such as the dinner in the Ilkari restaurant, which is excellent. So strange, therefore, that breakfast in the same restaurant is a bit mediocre. This... More

My stay covered three nights April 10-13th. It was quite busy (and I was told fully occupied at least one night) due to Easter holiday. I knew going in what to expect from other reviews so had the right attitude. I agree it is probably the best choice of places to stay in the compound. I only had one meal... More

A Family decision to visit Uluru and get some culture. 5 Day stay, We hired a car for the week. (essential in my view). There is one sealed road in & out down to the rock & Kuta Tjuta. Stay on the sealed road and you will never have a problem and you can still see everything up close. Sails... More

I agree it is not a “TRUE” five star hotel, like you would except to find in the cities. But probably the best out here. Three adults stayed three nights. The room was big, plenty of space to move around in and also put three suite cases. Large clean bathroom. Very large balcony with small table and two chairs. Two... More

Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. View Uluru and Kata Tjuta up close and personal. Guided tours are available or you can walk about on your own. No big throngs of tourists. Lovely rooms and amenities. The hotel staff was very helpful.

If you want a really great, unique lodging experience in Uluru and can afford to spend $2500 US a day, there's Latitude 131. If not, your options are limited. Sails in the Desert looked like the best of the rest, and maybe it actually is, but if I were to make a second trip to Uluru, I would look elsewhere.... More

The setting is decent, the suite was large, and some of the employees were great, but there are problems. the entire experience is uneven. I would stay elsewhere next time. first, the room I was in had 2 A/C units, both of which were very loud, with metal on metal noise. so I asked them to fix it. They came... More
