Stayed for 2 nights in February. It was very hot about 42 degrees fortunately the air con was very efficient and the room and hotel were beautifully cool. The furnishings and presentation of the room were of a very high standard. Our room looked out of the hotel into the bush but at ground level and the little "balcony" area... More

I did not know what to expect considering that this hotel is in the middle of nowhere. What a surprise. Room was very modern and included aboriginal artwork that you could purchase. The carpet looked like someone had spilt a gallon of red wine over it but it was actually woven to represent the rocks in the area. It must... More

We only stayed here for 1 night and wished it had have been more. We had a lovely welcome by the reception desk with a welcome drink. Our room was stunning as was the bathroom. It was tastefully decorated and spacious with everything you could want including a bottle of bubbly to celebrate my husbands' birthday. The pool looked inviting... More

This hotel was average at best, nothing spectacular but that could be because of where it is situated. The room itself was large and had a balcony - we were unable to use the balcony because it faced the sun and was too hot to sit out there. The room itself could have used a good vacuuming and some work... More

We stayed here on our land tour of Australia with Princess Cruises who arranged everything for us. The dining room was nicely appointed and the service was excellent. Food was good but expensive as expected that far out back. The rooms were clean and satisfactory but could use some upgrading. We were unable to exit our room on to the... More

Dear Kathryn B, Thank you for providing us with your valuable feedback. It is wonderful to read your comments in regards to our Ilkari Restaurant. I have shared your feedback with the Ilkari team. I have also shared your comments regarding the patio with our maintenance team. I hope your visit to Uluru and Kata Tjuta National Park was an... More

I understand that this hotel was once the epitome of elegance in an adventure setting. Despite the ubiquitous flies and the searing daytime heat, it describes itself as a five star property, in a class with the Ahwahnee Hotel in California's Yosemite National Park. A luxury suite may cost you nearly a thousand dollars per night, and even a modest... More

Dear C2000Consulting, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with valuable feedback. The resort did receive a comprehensive refurbishment two years ago. The refurbishment focused on the rooms, public areas and our conference facilities. Enhancement to the pool area and external building is planned shortly. January and February are indeed warmest months of the year. The warmer weather... More

In my head Sails in the Desert conjured up a romantic vision. Not so on arrival. Travel plans meant we arrived at 09.30 and we could not have our keys until 14.00. This is often normal but obviously it was very hot. The swimming pool was very underwhelming and none of the seats had any shade. We had to sit... More

Dear Deeanne14, Thank you for your feedback. It is indeed concerning to read that you felt you were spoken to in a rude manner when requesting an item. Please be assured this is not a normal reflection of the hospitality we aspire to deliver. I have shared your comments with our Front Office Manager to address the issue appropriately. Our... More

This claims to be a five star hotel but does not have the five star service you would expect for it's high prices. We had a good room and the food was OK in the one restaurant that was open as long as you accept buffets. There is also a nice pool to relax in after sightseeing. The problem is... More

Dear Keith1504, Thank you for your constructive feedback. It is indeed concerning to read your comments in regards to the felt lack of attention with the large influx of groups we have visiting at this time of year. Please assured I have shared your comments with the team. I am sorry to read your concerns regarding restaurant availability. Just after... More

We stay at this hotel regularly/probably once a month as we live/work nearby. We know most of the service staff (especially the bar staff) and they are all keen to help and enthusiastic. Sam at Ilkari and Meggan at reception are 'stand-outs'. We stayed for one night last weekend with the kids and our stay was great but it was... More

You make allowances for hotels, this hotel is in a harsh hot environment, difficult to maintain etc and it shows. Public areas show it but rooms are good once you are through the room door. Staff are OK. Paying for internet in a '5 star' hotel is old hat!, but what really dissapointed us was being asked for a $5... More

Dear Wcan, Thank you for your review. January and February are indeed harsh months to visit the Red Centre. The extreme temperatures do reduce touring times and certainly impact the team. Planning your activities early in the day is always important. I certainly take your comments on board regarding internet and ice. Changes to these services will be discussed with... More
