Stayed in the female dorm and made friends here. The toilets and rooms are generally clean (but don't expect it to be spotless). It is the only backpackers in Ayers Rock and as a budget solo traveller I had no choice but to choose this as other hotels were expensive. The customer service are good. I also booked the camel... Having 1st visited this resort in 2003, I just returned yesterday from a family weekend to the same location. Our overall assessment is that nothing seems to have change since we left some 11 years ago. It appears as if there is an overwhelming need for some new, energizing management to liven the place up. The general village appears run... More

Hi, I stayed in the womens' dormitory at Outback Pioneer a couple of months ago. My daughter, Yaz booked me in for a week. I didn't know what to expect but the whole experience was brilliant. I shared in a quarter with 2 bunk beds. Everyone was quiet and there were powerpoints to recharge the mobile. The cleaner was polite... More

Don't waste your money staying here it can't even be called a hotel. We were on an organised tour so had no choice. Pay a bit extra and stay somewhere else. The room and bathroom were both so small and very dark. Luckily we were only other overnight. We would really have hated to stay any longer. We have never... More

I booked to stay with a friend in the dorm and unfortunately some of the other people there were really noisy. Not the fault of the hotel of course. Nevertheless, we thought we would try our luck and brought it up with the manager. He was extremely kind to move us to another room which was vacant. Great service. Facilities... More

Hello DaffyT55 It is unfortunate that the noise from other guests can sometimes hamper the experience of ones staff at a hotel. This can be a common problem in many hotels. Generally my staff are happy to assist with issue like these and I am glad to see they were able to resolve this matter to your satisfaction. Regards General... More

Didn't stay here but the cook for yourself BBQ was great fun. Eating croc, kangaroo, prawn, beef and lamb. The outdoor bar and entertainment was also a new experience, very relaxing but stimulating. Some of the 1000 resort staff drink here so the stories at the bar are fascinating and many young backpackers stay here so prepare for a few... More

Well, I don't know where to start; Possibly with the botched booking, they had me in for two rooms for one night instead of one room for two nights. It was quite a shock when I found out we had paid - 3 people, $438 for one night in the dirtiest room I have possibly ever seen. Not only that,... More

Really not so modern, but in complex a good solution to stay very close to Uluru at reasonable tariffs. The pool was very appreciated after a day passed in the very hot red centre of Australia. Nice bbq area with good choice of meat available.

Hello PrincipatoDiGaggio Cooling down in the pool after some time spent out in the hot desert of central Australia is a must. As beautiful as the Red Centre is the 40+ degree days can take their toll and there is nothing better than a nice cool pool to bring the bodies temperature down. Thanks for reviewing your visit to the... More
