We booked a twin room at this resort. The room I had was very clean and had everything I wanted. It can compare to a 3-4 stars hotel room. However, the swimming pools were full of young and noisy backpackers. Uluru viewpoints at Ayers Rock Resort are not that spectacular. You will see only a small part of the rock.

Having booked for a one night stay in the cheapest available accommodation in the area, we weren't too disappointed with the backpacker style layout and facilities. The room was adequate and had a tv to watch the cricket (after veiwing Uluru at sunset) and the shared bathrooms are fine for a short stay like ours. Dinner was available from either... More

Hello Michael C Thanks for your review of the Outback Pioneer Hotel and Lodge. I'm pleased to see you found our accommodation comfortable for your stay to visit the Red Centre of Australia. At check in it is common place for hotels to take what is called a pre authorisation of a credit card. This is a pre-approved amount that... More

This room was adequate for our one night stay. Very basic with good air conditioning and a comfortable bed. The town center has a handy grocery store with pre-made salads, fruit and other options for a dining alternative.

This place need many more housekeeping staff as we couldn't check into the room until 3pm despite arriving there at 12noon. Whilst waiting for the room to be ready e went to the bar. This is an outside area with the Pioneer Kitchen, a cafe type things, a self service BBQ area, pool table, stage for a live band and... More

Hello Kathryn L Glad to see your rooms was clean and comfortable for your visit to the Outback Pioneer Hotel. Our rooms check in times are unfortunately dependant on flights at the resort. Guests arrive and depart within such a short period for each other and due to high occupancy it does mean that there is usually a short wait... More

Stayed in dorm rooms which are basic but comfy, shared bathroom facilities are clean, shower pressure good. Kitchen good enough to get some food together. Staff all really helpful with how to see the rock, in particular Kabel and his mentor (sorry can't remember the name, but from the Solomon islands!) were really friendly, Kabel showed me some outback spiders... I have no idea why this place gets some poor ratings on TA, its exactly as it advertises, its not 5 star, but neither is it claiming to be, What it is, is clean, modest, and all you need, with great bathrooms, perfect TV reception, large rooms, air conditioned. Sure, it has a little bit of age about, but it... More

Not a lot of choices out here. This was the most reasonable price wise but you don't get much of a room. Stayed at Kings Canyon- big drive but worth it- in a significantly better room for less money. You've got to see the rock so staying there 1 night is ok but don't hang around.

Hello SorryWS Uluru (The Rock) is a definite must for anyone visiting The Red Centre. Usually many visitors only stay the one night. Unfortunately this doesn't allow them enough time to explore Kata Tjuta where I would suggest doing the Valley of the Winds walk which has spectacular views and scenery. Ayers Rock resort does over packages at discounted rates... More

I had explored various options about this accommodation and in the end settled for a 4 bed dormitory at a cost of £36 as I was only staying the one night, this included a free shuttle to and from the airport which in itself was a huge saving compared to the cost elsewhere, the room was not that big, I... We came to Uluru seeking an authentic experience of the outback and that is exactly what we got! Booked a mixed shared room through YHA, and have to say it was the best option. The room was small and basic with two bunk beds and not much else, but thankfully we had air-conditioning and it was clean. For $34/night per... More

Stayed here for two nights over Christmas, so had Christmas eve and Christmas day here. They have a monopoly here and are far too over priced for what they are. Friendly enough staff.
