i was travelling with a large group of adventourous individuals aged 18-35. we were doing a tour of australia and came here for the sole purpose of seeing Uluru(Ayers Rock). we were told the rooms were basic upon arrival but when getting into our rooms we realized we had been situated in a prison cell. 2 of our 4 companions... more

Ayres Rock (Uluru) itself is fantastic. The accomodation is out of the way, a captured market - and therefore expensive. But if you want to stay at the Rock and do teh sunrise and sunset trips (all great experiences) and if you don't expect very much from this cheapest option in terms of the hotels you'll be fine. They pool... more

We stayed in a standard room. Tip - if you're going to see sunrise at Uluru buy breakfast from the onsite supermarket the night before. Don't miss sunset on the Olgas with AAT Kings. PROS Despite being a standard room there were two single beds as well as the double bed - perfect for laying out suitcases on. Outback Pioneer... more

OK we know that it's not good value but where else can you stay that's near the Rock ? As a solo traveler my room was more than adequate and I cannot complain about the room service or the facilities so I cannot understand what other reviewers are talking about. I did find the food expensive and Gecko's Cafe a... more

I stayed at this accommodation for 2 nights and 3 days. I'd read the reviews on here and felt weary about staying here, but because the other accommodations there are so expensive, I decided to bite the bullet and book my stay here. The price was excellent, got it through Travelocity (which was having a huge sale on all kinds... more

We stayed at this resort because if you want to see the Uluru there is nowhere else to stay. We booked at the outback piooner lodge because booking a standart hotel room in that place of the world could cost minimum around 850 AUD. This was the most disgusting and horrible place I have ever been to and what is... more

Just read a few negative reviews and it seems they stayed at a different place to me! I had a great time at the outback pioneer. The hotel room was clean, with everything you could ask for, ours was spacious with a king and single bed, tea coffee making facilities and a nice clean bathrrom. I also found the food... more

My boyfriend and I just laughed our tooshies off reading these negative reviews of this place. It's the most positive thing to come out of having stayed at the Outback Pioneer Lodge. The park and both Uluru and Kata Tjuta are absolutely beautiful and well worth the $25 entry for 3 days (if you can manage to stretch out activities... more
