My wife and I stayed at Desert Gardens hotel for three nights at the end of June 2008. 1. We had problems the first night with the heating not working. Night time temperatures go down to around zero here in June. The room was virtually unlivable in. It took two nights before it was fixed in spite of numerous requests... more

I stayed at the Desert Gardens hotel as part of a Monograms tour by Globus. The rooms were adequate. There was only a walk in shower in the bath. They need to update the television. It was clean. You must put your room key in a slip by the door in order to have lights and air. I thought the... more

Unfortunately if sightseeing at Ayers Rock or Uluru, you don't have much of a choice of where to stay. It IS in the middle of the desert with NOTHING around, so you don't have a choice of a cheap hotel or setting up your tent just anywhere. It appears that anything that is the "town" is actually the Ayers Rock... more

We arrived at the Desert Gardens around mid day,the bus picks everybody up from the airport,so if you are travelling as a couple, one should head for reception after disembarking the coach and the other should wait and deal with the cases, that way you can avoid a huge queue to get checked in. Once checked in and making you way to... more

We stayed at the Desert Gardens for 1 night. The room was fine and clean but had a tired feel about it and could do with some basic repairs (eg the mosquito netting on the door was broken with gaps). Also the stairs and walkways needs to be tidied up as dead leaves etc were just left. We knew that... more

Chalets spread out over the desert - nice idea but poorly signposted. We had a wonderful outlook over the bush. Room OK but no way of turning off sound of bathroom airconditioning. Lights over bed designed to shine into your eyes, avoiding your book. Expensive restaurant with no alternative, not even bar meals - disgraceful, especially as there is only... more

We stayed at the Desert Gardens for 2 nights as part of our AAT Kings Red Centre trip. The accommodation was good. Our room was smart and clean with a terrace to the rear (not that we ever felt like sun-bathing). Check-in can be a bit fraught with too many buses arriving at the same time. Our bus arrived at... more

This trip was amazing - please, please don't worry about some of the negative reviews! All the hotels are in one big complex, and the hotels and restaurants cater to a wide range of travellers. We stayed in the Lost Camel part of the Resort. The rooms are cool, clean and spacious. A hotel room for this price in Perth,... more

Stayed at Desert Gardens for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon. I would normally check the reviews on TripAdvisor before booking but didn't with this one, which was just as well as I think I would have been put off Desert Gardens by some of the previous comments! We booked a deluxe room which was kitted out very nicely;... more

Stayed at the Desert Gardens for 2 nights in November on our Australia trip. Flew into Ayres Rock and the hotel is just a short hop away. Our room was in a block close to the pool but not overlooking it. The room was fine, had comfortable beds, tea and coffee facilities and a fridge. The bathroom was quite spacious... more
