The pictures on tripadvisor and on its website really don't do any justice to this lovely little inn! Was really surprised with the cleanliness, cuteness and friendliness of this place- it felt like I was staying at a friend's place. There was also a cat to play with! Bonus: the 3-bed female dorm near kitchen has a bathroom (with a... More

I had the most fantastic time at Alice's Secret. I stayed for a few weeks either side of a hike, and made some incredible friends (there were a lot of long term residents of a couple of months plus) and felt really safe and welcome. Seb is great with the guests as well, and makes you feel like a friend... More

We stayed here for the standard 'one night in alice before uluru tour, one night after'. First night was in Seb's Alpine Cabin (Seb is the owner, its his favourite room) and on our return we stayed in the Betty Boop Bus. We (that's myself and my gf) couldnt have loved this hostel more. We had spent 5 weeks travelling... More

I really liked this Hostel. Seb, the proprietor goes out of his way to make everyone feel welcome. The rooms in the garden are special and lovingly decorated. Mine was done up like a childrens' room, bright colours and sheets. The garden area is also very nice - I especially liked the Reading Room in a little extra building. Bathrooms... More

Friendly staff and awesome service with booking for the tour.Although I have just stayed there for two nights,I love the cute and lovely decorations in the garden. They all make me feel so relaxing like in a resort. The location is quite good as it is not the center of the town but it just takes you 5 minutes to the main... Alice's Secret is located in a great spot, so close to town but in a nice quiet street. The most memorable thing about my time there was how friendly the staff are! It was perfect for our trip because we were having really big, active days so the relaxed atmosphere of the hostel when we returned at night was perfect.

Not a party hostel quiet convenient location. Has a feeling of home. I stayed in a dorm the first night and a private room the other few nights. The kitchen and bathrooms are a little scarce and it can be hard to get in but that is adequately compensated by the friendly staff and visitors. It is cleaned every day.... More

I haven't had a long stay. One night in a three bed girls dorm and two nights in a six bed dorm but even this short time was amazing. The rooms and facilities are very nice, clean and comfortable. The staff is cleaning every day. The hostel has a very nice and comfortable TV room as well, were you can... More

Stayed at this small hostel in Alice Springs twice, it's very quiet and clean. Could benefit from more toilet/ bath facilities as many visitors are leaving at the same time. Staff are super friendly and helpful.

I only spent 2 days at this hostel, with most of my time out on the town with newly made friends as I'd just finished a 7-day tour, but the place has such a nice vibe I'd love to come back and chill out! I didn't get to see the Macdonnell Ranges so I have an excuse to return. Staff... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Discover why 'Alice's Secret' has been recommended by Lonely Planet as 'too good to stay a secret' (2006). Seb welcomes you to Alice's Secret Travellers Inn, a cozy, QUIET and relaxed hostel nestled in the middle of Australia's red centre. This hostel continues to be "a work in progress", next up is an OUTSIDE BBQ AREA, for that true Aussie outside cooking experience! Recently added are our new "deluxe" rooms ALPINE HUT & BUS BETTY,also every room has it's own character. Checkout the new chill-out corner (numberplates are welcome anytime:-) covered with a shade sail outside the existing kitchen to keep us cooler in summer in drier when it rains (which happened a LOT the past 12 months). The smallest hostel in 'the Alice', we are tucked away on a quiet street just opposite arid bush land and near our Botanic Gardens, yet only a five minute walk from the town centre. Being the smallest & quietest, we pride ourselves on our cleanliness and friendliness and we are happy to give you that extra bit of attention you will miss in the bigger places. Alice's Secret is an old fashioned communal hostel with shared facilities, that means lots of places to get together and share experiences with fellow travellers. Communal facilities include a fully equipped self catering kitchen; cozy TV/video lounge with A HUGE COLLECTION OF VIDEOS/DVDs for those days when you just want to be a lounge lizard; and a spacious and green backyard complete with bbq, sparkling saltwater swimming pool, fruit trees and abundant birdlife. Recently updated is our CHAT ROOM, with a cosy sofa and games. Guests are also encouraged to make good use of our in-house didgeridoos, guitar and piano. All our rooms are clean and comfortable, air conditioned in summer and heated in winter. You can choose between dormitory, single, twin or double rooms and we have GIRLS ONLY ROOM. All linen and duvets are provided. Our office hours is 10am-2pm, then 4pm-7pm...(Check-in 12PM-2PM & 4PM-7PM) If you arrive outside these hours, just leave your luggage in our CHAT ROOM, and enjoy the garden, the birds and the pool... You will find tea/coffee in the kitchen, feel free to help yourself (-:Please note our CHECKOUT time is 10:30. Check-ins AFTER 7pm is by PRIOR ARRANGEMENT ONLY! NOT A PARTY HOSTEL! NO LATE NOISE! Intoxicated guests will be asked to leave. No visitors at any time, sorry!
