Backpacking around Australia, Haven has been my favourite hostel. The staff are all really friendly and welcoming. They are really helpful with suggestions on what to do in Alice Springs. They organised and booked my tour to Uluru, Kings Canyon & Kata Tjuta, informing me of the best deals and what each company has to offer in their tour. The... More

Calling this place 'Haven' might be what they aspire to be, but it is quite a way from the truth! I had booked two nights in this hostel - one before and one after my 3 day trip to Uluru. I thought I wouldn't need somewhere particularly nice for such a short time, but in Alice Springs I discovered it... More

I came to the Haven to stay a couple of nights before I toured around with friends. This was my very first stop in the NT as I'd never been before, and I was made to feel very welcome straight away! I was given maps and the staff were all super friendly with lots of advice & tips on the... More

I was back in Alice for a few days recently after several months away and decided to stay at Haven again.... I've stayed at almost all of Alice's hostels and hotels, but keep coming back to Haven when I have a choice. The last few stays had been great (as usual), but I'd been particularly impressed by the renovations and... More

Comfortable nights sleep but wouldn't stay here longer than one night. Staff some friendly, some would rather look at their computer screen whilst talking to you. I missed the BBQ they provided so had to leave the hotel in the evening to find dinner. The staff didn't tell me it wasn't safe to leave on my own. I found out... More

I didn't choose this hostel, it's included in a package I took through a travel agency. But I can say that it's a good one, close to a shopping mall (who's appreciable when it's hot outside : you don't want to walk during hours under sun). Don't expect fancy things, it's a normal backpacker's hostel. Rooms are quite big (I... More

I stayed here at the end of an Uluru-Kings Canyon trip ending in Alice Springs. I hadn't booked in advance and some people from the group were staying there; the staff were very accommodating putting me in the same room as them. We were lucky, 5 of us in an 8 bed room, quiet nights sleep midweek. The room was... More

Quite grubby and in poor repair, this hostel feels cold and unfriendly (staff, not guests). The kitchen ware, pots & pans, knives and dishes, all need replacing. The bedding is just a sheet, no doona, unlike other, much more welcoming Alice hostels.

Need to start by saying when we booked the gentleman at the front desk was amazing and very helpful. Upon arrival we wanted to book for 7 nites and wanted a weekly rate. The gentleman booked us for one nite and explained the room was available for all 7 nites, I suggested we book a nite and talk to the... More
