My friend and I stayed here between tours as pre-dorm accommodation, and found it was quite lively and fun. The hostel generates a positive atmosphere and is very well laid out. It would be hard to find rooms that are larger elsewhere, for there is plenty of room and even baskets to store your backpack, which slide under the bed. The small bathroom is ok for a quick shower and was very clean when I arrived. The hostel offers free breakfast (bread and cereal), and there are washing machines and dryers downstairs.
Whichever you look at it, if your on a budget and want to stay in a quality hostel then you don't really need to look elsewhere. The walk into town is a brisk 5-10 minute, and there is also a subway restaurant across the road. Tell them your staying at the Haven and they will give you a discount!
This hostel is close to the cultural princinct where you will find the aviation museum, art gallery, The museum of the NT, and the cemetry.
