I have been out to Ross River Resort now 4 years running and I love it!! I am a photographer & head out there for an annual event called "The Big Sing in the desert". Jodie, Shane and their team are amazing! All of our needs are taken care of and there is a sense of Family. The food is... More

I arrived solo as part of a large group during the Big Sing recently. Jodie and family were wonderful. Despite being very busy, Jodie, and her staff and family were most accommodating. Accommodation was simple but clean and comfortable, and I slept soundly! Food was geared to large numbers of diners due to our shared dining arrangement during the Big... More

We have just spent another long weekend at Ross River Homestead and as always Jodie and Shane and their crew were friendly and helpful, the food was generous and fresh, and the setting amongst the beautiful hills, ranges and rivers is always glowing and glorious, especially at sunrise and sunset. We heard and saw many birds, including a Red Tailed... More

Big Sing In Central Australia was held at Ross River Resort, an hours drive east of Alice Springs. What a great location amidst the ancient ranges, and the RR Resort mob are friendly, efficient and produced wonderful food.

Ross River Resort is remote and beautiful. There is a choice of cabins, bunkhouses and camping and the old homestead has been preserved with the addition of a large bar and restaurant. There are many references to the history of the place and a book exchange if you want to spend your evenings reading. Nearby is the stunning Trephena Gorge... More

Away from roads, noise and WiFi this place is an oasis of low key relaxation. Friendly but efficient you can stay in the bush either as a camper or in basic cabin with bathroom. Food is good and plenty of it! There's a rustic bar, fireplacea in and outside. Great place for groups. Plenty of history from the days when... More

Imagine driving along a quiet country road with wonderful scenery and wild life. The road eventually ends at an outback resort which is based on an old cattle station. Shane the manager vwelcomed us and after serving ice cream and fruit juice gave us a guided tour and potted history of the resort. This may not be 5 star accommodation... More

The Ross River Resort was the site of a weekend workshop I attended at short notice, so I had no real idea what to expect of the place, and was blown away by the quality of the food and service, the cleanliness of the campsite and the warmth and humour of the staff. The location so close to Alice Springs... More

We went out to Ross River Retreat at Alice Springs after been advised by an aboriginal lady tin Alice Springs, to go there. We were very pleasantly surprised, welcomed by Shane who told us quite a bit of history about the place and the homestead. Lovely old homestead with a lot of character. If we weren't going out for tea... More

Driving the Ross highway out from Alice Springs to the Ross River Resort is a really nice day out .. there's lots to explore along the highway on your way, and a lovely cold beer and meal once you arrive.. a great day out and well worth taking a day out there..
